Is it normal to attend all of Google interviews and feel like you aced it? Just seeing if it is really me who did well or how they make me feel. Preparing for the worse is important. 😊

I always thank every candidate and tell them that it was great talking to them. I usually even say that xyz answer was really insightful / interesting. I say the same whether you passed or not - it's all about making you as comfortable as possible so you can do your best. I hope that you do well....interviewers really are on your side

It's important to understand that companies like Google, Amazon, Salesforce, Microsoft, Facebook have their pick of the litter. While sounds like you nailed the interview, you were likely competing with 3-4 others that made it to the final loop. Good luck in making it the finals, now you need some skill, luck, and advantages vs your competitors that you are up against. If I can ever help with anything, I'm always happy to. Cleared it folks! Thanks for all the advice. Btw, HC can be bye-passed apparently and they did in my case.

likeuplifting

What goes in the background after you clear HC and wait for the offer?

They did that with me a couple of times, then they decide to not go forward. Google hiring managers are just really nice and friendly people, even when they let go.

Haha so it is not me then!

I will say this though, related to how you feel: Getting or not getting the offer isn’t always indicative of nailing interviews. I walked out of onsites feeling like I nailed it and was getting an offer but the team went with another candidate. They said my feedback was great and they reached out the following month for another role.

Thanks for sharing this.

We are trained to do that (I mean in fairness most people I interview are great in a way or another). And Googlers are generally nice people. Not trying to put your hopes down, I really hope you did well!

Thanks. I may have actually messed up my interview. I can clearly tell I got 3/8 questions in my rrk2 wrong as in I did not follow the path they wanted me to follow. At this point I feel It would be a surprise if I get through. But good experience overall.

Ooo very insightful! I was made to feel like this and thought I'd done a great job. Now I'm not fully sure.

Ha! In the same boat as you OP! Now I am keeping my fingers 🤞. FWIW, the HM didn’t interview me. Once my loop was done the recruiter arranged a separate chat with the HM and it was billed as ‘this is not an interview’ . I still think it has to be evaluative- hard to imagine someone hiring a person without having an input in the process

It can be bypassed in very specific cases. It is definitely not the norm and is a new process, so it’s not often brought up as a possibility

like

Congrats OP! Did you receive your offer details?

Nope. It is WIP.

Especially those with professional careers etc. It seems like the whole first comes love then comes marriage and baby thing is still standard. Does it really have to be though?
