I am looking to transition from an administrative job to an HR position, and it seems impossible to find something because most job postings require years and years of HR experience, and I can’t even make it through to the interview stage despite my 6 years of administrative experience. Any advice?

I recently graduated with a masters degree in Data Analytics from University of Texas at San Antonio with a CGPA of 4.0. I am also awarded distinguished graduate student award for great academic standing and leadership skills. I have worked in india for 3 years for Uber and Amazon as Risk Analyst and quality specialist respectively. I am currently in my F1 OPT and have 30 days left before I submit my offer letter to USCIS. Company x offered me 9 LPA
Company y offered 11 LPA

I want to join company x more due to their tech stack, culture etc. It's also an established product based company while y is service based.
How do I initiate negotiations with x? I have plenty of time left in notice, but x also requested to join early (if previous company releases, with buyout+bonus) for which I have discussions next Wednesday.

I’ve always been a big saver minimum 15% to maxing out my 401k since I graduated college. I’m married to someone who thinks 6% is enough and likes $$$ cars. Other than the cars, they dont really spend money. For the married 🐠, how do you have the conversation with them that what they are doing isn’t enough? I try to guide them and say you want the $$$ cars but the salary you have won’t get there and you’re going to have to find a job that gets them the salary…. Then the fight starts.
