I can’t say if you are misdiagnosed but I use a mindful meditation app to help with wandering. It teaches you how to refocus. It’s entirely natural for your mind to wander but learning how to accept that it will occasionally and how to refocus it takes time. I use the Headspace app
When I regularly do mindful meditation I find that not only can I focus better but, overall, I’m more calm and better handling my stress.
Glad it helped! I started it and my therapist has been really encouraging me to do it more. There are some days I do it more than once because my anxiety and stress are off the charts.
There’s different types of scripts that could help you with that. Ritalin, Adderall, vyvanse, and a others. If you’re truely diagnosed correctly maybe a change of medicine type can help. Talk to your doctor!
When I am on it, I can feel it and I feel like I drank a few cups of coffee, but my mind still wanders. I don’t want to take it if I don’t need it but I’m not sure if I do or not. Is a wandering mind the same as adhd or am I missed diagnosed? So I take my medicine, sit down, and study for he CPA but then I find my mind wandering. I’ll tell myself ok for the next 16 minutes focus and read this part of the book, 5 minutes later I catch my mind wandering again without control and it’s to the point where I get frustrated. I know I can pass these test, but there’s some mental block I can’t get through. Just venting sorry
With my lack of focus, 1- I don’t know how I made it this far and 2- I sometimes think about possible potential if I made it this far with metal barriers then how amazing could I be without barriers
Very relatable. My lack of focus hold me back so much. And I truly want to do good/better, but my mind is all over the place.
One way that will help is talk to people and delete your social media’s. Sit with close friends and have deep concentration on and on
I recently switched from Ritalin to a slightly smaller dose of concerta (essentially Ritalin with a fancy extended release mechanism). Much smoother, more even than the instant release. My best advice would be to go to a psychiatrist if you’re not already. They’re the best suited to help manage your medication.
