That sounds awful lol. I’d run away from that one.
Yea it’s been like that. Like 1/3 of companies respond to let you know about initial screening call or if you didn’t get it. Then 1/3 of those even respond after the screening. Maybe half tell you if they aren’t moving forward if you do a first interview. Finally, 2/3 respond if you’ve made it to the final round. I’ve even called them out on it (professionally) when I went through the whole process and they decided to go with the other person. It should be 100% if you’ve made it to final rounds and it’s bullshit that they don’t have the courtesy to tell you after investing so much time.
Yes, totally agree. It is such a waste of time interviewing for rounds 2/3/4 and waiting 2wks to never hear back. Soooo frustrating. Common courtesy would be to respond “we are moving forward with another candidate”. Also, I will never recommend these companies to others in my network looking for positions. (These companies will miss out on top talent)
Yea. Been same thing for me, for a long time now. No one bothers to reply to any email you send. Crazy
I was doing some interviews just for training / recheck my net worth, I am really glad I am not out there trying to find a real job urgently. Some companies interviewed me for 4hs straight via VC - it's killing.

That is wild. Congratulations on the new job.
I applied for around 200 places in the last year and only heard back for interviews twice.
If you’re still looking, here are a few things that helped me.
1.) update LinkedIn to state you’re open to new positions. There a new “status” you can change that shows recruiters that you’re looking.
2.) add a section in your description on LinkedIn titled “Specialties:” list about 25 key words that pertain to your job specs. marketing, sales, presentation, excel, public speaking, SEO, etc. -The recruiting ATS systems scan profiles and you will get more hits by having more key words.
3.) Reach back out to all recruiters that have reached out via LinkedIn over the last 2yrs just kindly asking them if they have any opportunities that may align to your profile. I found 4-5 interviews this way.
Best of luck.
Try "befriending" someone in the company you have applied to or are going to apply to see if they can submit your resume internally. This is the best way to cut through the noise.
Very similar experience. HR is either too busy or lacks empathy. Either way, broken is the correct term for sure.
