Just had my first ultrasound to check for viability and I was 6w6d measuring at 6w2d with 114 heart rate. The NP seemed concerned; however it’s “within normal range” because of her concern I have conpletely spiraled and assuming ill miscarry. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks gestation in February so I’m really freaking out. Anyone have similar situation? 😭

Call the office. Ask to speak to your doctor. Say the nurse seemed concerned with your scan and it is making you worried due to your history of miscarriage. Ask for a repeat scan and/or a follow up sooner than would normally be done.

That is good sign. Some embryos develop slower but nothing wrong with that. They do catch up. Chin up and good luck

I’m no expert, but that doesn’t sound that far behind and she should not have expressed so much concern as your stress won’t help the matter. I hope you’ll have a follow up visit soon and I hope that you see good progress.

like

I can’t tell you how many times an ultrasound tech at my practice has made a stupid offhand comment about something that when the doctor reviewed it later, said was fine. I would ask for a call with doctor to alleviate some stress.

like

I also think you should call your doctor but I think it matters how you conceived about whether being behind at this point means much. If it was IVF and the exact timing is known, those may be concerning stats. Not to worry you more but I had very similar stats at my IVF viability scan (us 6w6d, measured 6w2d with 105 hr) and it was a MMC found at 8w4d. If it was not IVF, you don’t know exactly when conception/implantation occurred and a day or two swing makes a huge difference this early.

Sorry, I thought i did answer the question. I don’t know if the heart rate increased because my next scan was at 8w4d and there was no heart beat. Also added the note about PGT because you said it was a FET and if you did that testing, it’s much less likely you are in the exact same situation.

Is you never really know! Stay hopeful and focus on the positive

Hi & welcome.

My dad who lives in Asia just announced that he had a medical issue. I’m starting to enter the age where I’m going to take care of him financially. It’s a $2,000 hospital bill which in the US is nothing compared to what it represents there (which he can’t afford). He’s going to be fine! Just wanted to share with this group as many of you can understand what it feels like to support your parents when they’re old, not the other way around. I feel so blessed I can help him. 🙏🏽

My fiancée almost lost her life to a medical emergency. The doctor needed me to stay home 2 weeks to supervise her post-operative care once the hospital discharged her. We had nobody near that could help so I got permission to attend class remotely for 2 weeks from the dean and all professors. One professor removed me from a graded argument the week after I’d return. When I asked about this error, he had said “I had planned on your failure to appear” and that he preplanned giving me a 0 grade.

Anyone use a lawyer to get increased disability? If so, any recommendations?

Jr. Associate at an AmLaw 100 firm in Central Florida. Good credentials; top 10% at T14, law review. Sick of private practice bc of hours and pressure. Also, not enjoying the work that Central Florida offers, but want to live here.

I want to one day have my own firm. Trying to think outside the box on how to get the experience w/o being in big law for ten years.

Thinking of applying to be an ASA and to the FL AGO. Would like trial experience or civil rights/con law work.

Thoughts appreciated!

Weekly Hot take. Accessibility=/= easy mode. I know it would take alot more time and resources to develop but more games sould come with accessibility features like color blind mode and maybe a bullet time for jumps. I am not a person with disabilities but i believe Celeste did a pretty good job at adding some of these features. I know it's hard to account for every type of disability but we can at least start with the most common ones.

Starting with our very first IVF cycle this week and kinda nervous 🤞
Nurse says retrieval to happen tentatively around 18th Dec but then transfer can take place in early February too considering genetic testing takes weeks. Is this the norm? Just fearing the team is not unnecessarily delaying things owing to holiday break.
