I had a friend get laid off last fall from D and there was no restriction on his rehire.
Most of companies can't hire you back within a year of layoffs
Not really, SM2. You can negotiate but if it's a big company they rarely change the terms
There would be no reason you couldn’t be rehired once the demand is there. They probably won’t come looking for you though, you’d have to reapply.
Firms do hate to do severe layoffs, and one of the reasons is that hiring quality employees is hard, expensive, and takes a long time. They tend to love hiring people with great experience at a firm like theirs. No guarantees of course, but it’s a much less risky hire if you know the person has bern successful at consulting at your own firm or a similar one.
