I would frankly be surprised if any U.S. government entity knowingly allowed this for an employee. You may need to look into independent contractor positions, but not sure if that will keep you in PSLF. What about nonprofits? Or a Mexican employer — does PSLF require that the employer be a U.S. entity?
When I was a clerk I had to go to Mexico. I told my boss but not IT. I got a million warnings from IT when I logged in and basically was not allowed to work while I was there.
Yeah don’t see this being possible. Would look for non-government opportunities.

What about working for the U.N. or as an ambassador attache? I'm not sure how much freedom you get to choose your work location but you might get lucky and get placed somewhere where you and your husband can live together.
Other than that, I'd be shocked if you could find a government position that would allow you to work in Mexico.
Oh! Foreign service maybe?
This would be my ideal as well! Although not specifically gov job ! Good luck on your search!
There could be some state department work (working for the US Ambassador) or consulate stuff, but doubt it'd be remote. Only thing I can imagine accepting it and the state dept job at least would be extremely competitive.
