I just got an offer from Accenture Switzerland, Total Comp 170K with 140K base. I have 6YOE as IT consultant and 9YOE in total. I am just upset that they did not offer me a relocation package of 20k because the cost of living in Zurich for a family with 1 child is crazy! Should I insist for a sign on bonus before accepting the offer?

If you’re interested, see the interview process through and then decide. And congrats!
This is helpful. Thank you.
I think you make a decision to do what’s best for your family. However in-house can be stressful so take that into consideration (it’s relative to what your job is like now) and also know many companies won’t give mat leave for the first year. Mine doesn’t but that’s not saying much. I had more flexibility at my firm…could work when I needed…. Could bill the hours in my sleep after being there for so long (I am busier now - it’s all compressed into a regular work day). However my friend was the opposite in-house was a better solution for her. Doesn’t hurt to start looking now because I think if you found the right fit, it could work out.
I’d continue and see how it goes. If you are leaning towards accepting, ask them about their leave policy and getting it without any up front commitments (maybe doing a post leave commitment instead?). The market is pretty bad so unless you get NO leave in house, it’d be tough to pass up the opportunity.
Some places require you to stay there for 6-12 months after taking parental leave otherwise you have to pay them what you got paid during leave. Some places have up front requirements like have to be there for a year before earning the paid leave.
