I gave 4 rounds of interview for Manager 1 but the final decision was that I am unable to raise the bar. The recruitment coordinator asked me if he can keep my details or share my details to his colleagues so that they can check if I fit in some other role in future. Any idea about the cool off period?Amazon

I agree, the recent layoffs are unsettling and make it clear that no job is completely safe, especially in sales. I do worry about my own job security and have started thinking about a plan B, like upskilling or exploring other industries, because it feels risky not to have a backup these days.
I have reduced my cost of living as much as I could so that I can maximize what I put into savings. Beyond that, I have no plan. If I end up unemployed, I'll look for work everywhere I can and hope I find something. It's all I can do, really.
I honestly would have assumed that sales teams were going to stay robust even when tons of other teams are shrinking with AI and everything. How do they plan on replacing sales jobs? I'm not really sure what worrying about it is going to do, personally. If I let myself panic, I will get paralyzed. Whenever I start to worry, I think of a list of skills I want to develop and start chipping away at them. Yeah, I might get laid off. However, I also learned how to fix various household items, perform some electrical wiring, program a website, and acquire other valuable skills that I can monetize if needed. I can be panicked, or I can be prepared.
