My SO lied about the scar on his fist. I never ask about the story behind it but he initiated the conversation and said it was from the boxing club. Now it turns out that it’s the result of street fighting . It’s a small thing but I feel very uncomfortable about it. I’m not sure if I’m overthinking or if this is a major red flag that shows his personality.

Today is my 23rd birthday and I had very few people say happy birthday today. I was still in daily contact with my ex (I know a mistake) and he snapped me but did not send me happy birthday (we were together 3yrs ). So I finally blocked him on everything for the first time. My SO is an alcohol abuser but has said he knows it’s a problem and would like to cut back or quit. Any suggestions or advice in how to help and cope with this. He becomes a different person when he drinks. I want to support him but don’t know how or where to start.

So am I naive for wanting to develop friendships with my coworkers? It seems like everyone has a life outside of work and as much as we talk about being collaborative and teamwork, no one on my team actually wants to develop friendships. Is it pointless? Like I don't want to waste my time but I do think the work culture would be more enjoyable?

What would you do if you didn’t need money? I have a fair amount coming one day and don’t actually need to work to live a good life (middle / upper-middle class). I work because of this vague notion of “ambition” and because everyone I grew up around is highly competitive and hard driving. How do you handle family tragedies and emergencies as a freelancer? Going through a very hard & sad situation right now, and juggling how to keep clients are arms length with familial responsibilities is getting, in short, taxing.

Been having trouble moving on since girlfriend ended relationship 3 weeks ago after 2+ years of dating. Before ending it she came over 3 weeks prior to basically give me a chance to work things out and we had a good discussion but then I went back into our routine and didn’t really fight for it or have serious follow up convos that we needed. Now I just have so many regrets that I let her go. I know we still love each other and left on “good” terms but can’t forgive myself for my lack of action.

Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. A therapist said to close her door if we don’t want to see it but it’s more than that. She needs this important life skill & I don’t know how to help. Easier to organize w/o her but that’s not a solution.

I find people to be so disappointing. I wish I could live all alone without them. But I guess that’s lonely and we need to feel loved by someone.

I am not sure I can continue to work in a system that refuses to let go of people who continue not to do their job. Kids deserve better.

My wife is a great mother. She, however, is not very physically affectionate and always has a million excuses. I crave physical affection both in the bedroom and in general. Happy wife happy life is a really toxic saying. I’m just shocked how this has become the standard saying for men in relationships.
