Our school will have a 2nd/3rd grade split class this year. While not super uncommon, it definitely doesn't seem to be very popular. My husband was almost in a split-level class growing up, but his Mom freaked out at the school principal, and he was able to switch classes. I personally have no experience with this but will it really be that bad?

I was a student in a 2nd/3rd split as a 2nd grader and to this day I think it’s why I grew advanced reading and math skills at such an early age

That is great to hear that it was successful for you! Clearly it impacted your life in a huge way.

I do not have any first hand experience, but there was talk about it coming this year so I did my research, but they ended up not doing this year anyways. That being said, it can depend on the reasoning for doing it. Can be helpful for students that are a little behind or a little ahead.

Agreed! I didn't think about how it might help ones who are too ahead.

My oldest son was in a 1/2 split, he was in first grade. We were told that the teacher was going to loop the following year, but she married and moved out of state. My son loved that grade snd teacher.

Wow I have not heard of a 1/2 split before, but I am glad your son loved it so much! Hearing about these positive experiences puts my mind more at ease.

Been having trouble moving on since girlfriend ended relationship 3 weeks ago after 2+ years of dating. Before ending it she came over 3 weeks prior to basically give me a chance to work things out and we had a good discussion but then I went back into our routine and didn’t really fight for it or have serious follow up convos that we needed. Now I just have so many regrets that I let her go. I know we still love each other and left on “good” terms but can’t forgive myself for my lack of action.

When I call him about a new listing etc he seems annoyed & disinterested. I will also be paying for more since I make more but due to his salary most apts in said budget (cont)

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. I’m devastated because he’s never expressed anything like this in the 8 years. He’s been super supportive and loving, even when we were in a long distance relationship. He supported my career and dreams and this just doesn’t make sense. We have gotten a counselor but things aren’t getting better. Comment>

Many with kids live on the same street as their ex wives so they can be close to their child. I'm not comfortable dating guys like that. On the flip side there are the ones that were never married, which by this age cont

How do I figure out spending with my SO? Initially I was paying for 90% of stuff (no actual bills, just going out). I talked to her and said we need to be more even. She was never proactive. She kind of got offended but we ended on a good note to split things. It went well for a couple weeks but now it's back to normal. She never takes out her card and only venmos me if I send her the request. She lets Venmos sit for weeks before paying them. I still let a lot of things slide.

I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!
