Give it at least 1.5 years. Publicis is NOTORIOUSLY slow on the promotion cycle due to the holding company and financial margin desired. Speak not your boss and be crystal clear in what you want. If they are good, they will at least keep you informed. Happened to me.
The agency world is reinventing itself right now. The hot area I am involved with is Commerce, so that group is making big revenue gains and more focus is being placed on those resources. I am somewhat isolated to the rest of the regional groups but I know we are expanding the bottom line and it comes back to us as a result. So my recommendation would be to try and get into that hot "ubiquitous commerce" practice because there is a LOT of job security there.
If nothing happens by early next year, I'm out. Tired of hearing about "opportunity" and record numbers without seeing any rewards.
We're all hoping for the severance package in January before we voluntary leave on our own.
I would not be surprised to see an uptick in people leaving after the holidays
Money is also the stupidest reason to lose good people. People still don't seem to understand that.
The two promotions I've gotten from a Publicis agency were because I got another job offer. So basically threaten them into it. Sad it has to be that way, but that's Publicis.
I'm at 8 months and looking to jump ship. Disorganized mess.
I think cost of living raises between 2500-5000 should be given out every year. I think from entry level to next two levels should be promoted every two years (total of 4 years) once you are a supervisor/senior/director in title I assume things take longer
Just because you haven't had a raise or a small cost of living bump in your 15 years, doesn't mean you shouldn't have.
It's already happening, they're just keeping it hush until the last minute.
People do deserve a cost of living increase every year. I haven't had a raise at LB for two years.
@Razorfish3 I hear a lot about record numbers and better than ever blah blah blah but no recognition in the way of pay increases or promotions.
A raise below the increase in the cost of living is a decrease in pay. We should all stand up to these.
Why? Is Razorfish hiring? #SixFiguresAndATitleBump
We've had some promotions within the last 6 months. Many more than the year previous to that.
They give out raises still. The pool of people who get them are much smaller. Just a follow up question. What is the average you feel you deserve a promotion? I ask because I feel a lot of young people feel they deserve promotions every 2 years
You guys should go to a Dentsu Aegis company. At iProspect at least, they do annual merit-based cost of living raises (3-5%) and the company is doing really well, so I don't foresee any freezes.
Burnett had merit increases today?!?
Just got a promotion, but only because I got another offer. The only way to get them to move is to quit.
