First of all, great job. You should be really proud of yourself! I also started in September and I’ve only lost 32 lbs so you’ve got me beat. 😂
Have you thought about stepping up the exercise a bit? Perhaps replace some of the walking with something a little more intense. Also, doing some resistance training to build up your muscle will improve your metabolism.
I’m in the process of replacing some of my walking with HIIT on Apple Fitness+ and I’m definitely feeling more of a burn ever since.
A friend told me that a two day plateau break of two eggs per day and only red meat (as much as you want) and water would break her plateau
That’s amazing, OP! I started my keto journey in the end of 2019 and have been continuing to this day. I have hit a weight loss plateau a couple of times which lasted for 5 weeks or more. I would just ask you to continue doing with what you are doing. A few items that I actively did:
1. Reduced my daily calorie intake by a small amount once I hit a lower weight. This has a because your BMR goes down as your weight reduces. Please make sure not to have a drastic reduction (maybe 50-60 calories every 5-6 weeks)
2. Taking a break from keto every 3-4 months (for a day or 2) to replenish your glycogen stores and removing the body from a (what I call) “keto rut”. I feel like that always helps me get back on the weight loss wagon once I come back to keto
Finally, understand that this is a journey where you will encounter plateaus. The best counter is not to think about it much and continue what you are doing, because you are doing awesome!
focus on NSV, nonscale victories like how your clothes fit. Also being in ketosis was not meant to be a permanent state. Need breaks and replenishment of glycogen stores to be able to get back into it.
I’ve read that some people reintroduce carbs for a week to shake up the system and break the stall. You’ll see an initial increase on the scale due to water weight but should resume progress as normal.
Are you eating dairy? I’ve found when I omit (except for occasional butter in eggs) this does the trick.
So amazing! Do you have a blog we can follow?
No, I’m still trying to figure it all out!! 😂
