Any Tableau SEs able to share some insights?
I have two years of automotive/aerospace manufacturing experience and am looking for new opportunities. I recently applied to a Solution Engineer - Commercial Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy (MAE) role at Salesforce, and it sounds like a great fit. Is anyone willing to offer me a referral or advice on how to move forward in the hiring process? Salesforce

3 years to 100k as a consultant.
SEs in most B2B probably command 100k OTE out of school.
I jumped pretty hard after just two years (9 yoe total) to a lead SE role for 220k OTE.
9 yoe total. So we’re the same. I just got into Sales Engineering 2 years ago. Sorry if that wasn’t clear!
From my research, outside of the top firms (FAANG / Salesforce / ServiceNow / Cloud data like Snowflake), Lead SE with around 10 yoe range from 210-240 OTE.
I’m moving to an AI platform early stage startup. The paper money is honestly pretty good too but worthless to mention.
For me it took longer than it should due to staying in my first job for 5 years. Started at 52k base out of school (Precast consultant) went up to $67k when i left. Jumped to a Project engineering position in additive mfg for $87k, year later jumped to a SE position in a drone company for $125k and a year later jumped to another SE position in Saas for $136k.

Damn ok. Are you 5YOE in total or 5 just in sales engineering? Is SA the same as sales engineer
TC ? Or just base?
60/10 after an internship. Moved to 85/15 after a few years because I changed companies. Bumped up to 105/40 after like 7 years there (like 11 years total experience). But I'm at/below the minimum of the range for my position, so very unhappy and trying to find a new job without any success. But we keep trying lol
i’m at 9 yoe. 175 base, 75 commission, ~40 rsu vest per year.
cracked 100k base around year 3-4.
