I feel like we’ve given up.

This shouldn’t be news to people but it is.

☝️yup. I use that same plan. Traditional doctor visits have a high deductible, but you can chat with a doctor for free. Plus if you hit a daily step goal with their app they give you a dollar towards an amazon card
Oscar has been pretty decent. I think Cobra is good but way more expensive. I pay around 500 bucks a month for an individual Silver plan. They have some cool innovations like Skyping with doctors and an on site primary car center in Brooklyn. I don’t pay for meds and my copays are tiny. I will never go back to Anthem. Total assholes.
@copywriter1 In summary: the culture. It was passive aggressive. Too much koolaid drinking. All ads are montages if found footage (or film shot to look like it) set to aspirational upbeat music.
I'm just on my cobra right now. Oscar can be a good option I've heard, but I didn't want that high of an out of pocket maximum.
Don’t have a good answer for you, but curious about 72S and why you left (sorry to digress, dipping my toe in the job water)
@72&Sunny. Yeah, the second an agency starts believing their own PR and forgets how they got there, it’s over.
Kinda feel the same about my current place — they keep saying they wanna up they’re creative game but keep putting out the same shit. These montage cuts are a perfect example. A lot of our clients (like Google) ask for that stuff and pay us so much we’re kinda like, sure whatever. I think right now we have 7 freelance editors on just one such project for them...
I had Oscar in New York and Kaiser in LA. Cobra was expensive AF
My cobra is 500 and it was better than Oscar silver.
Oscar Silver. If you don't need to go to the doctor that often it's fine. The $7000+ deductible is scary, but if you need checkups here and there and a couple prescriptions a couple times a year you're fine.
Ahh. It *is* in CA but only in select zip codes. I believe they're currently in NY, NJ, CA, and a couple other states. Check hioscar.com and put in your zip and see if it's available.
FYI - things you learn from “Fire and Fury” — Oscar is owned by Jared’s brother
I would look into Kaiser Permanente in California, I never freelanced when I lived there but it was my cheap work option and I liked them.
Guys. Thank you so much for your input. Question: I live in CA. Is Oscar just an NY thing? I hadn’t heard of it before this.
@Freelance1 On it. Thank you!
