We are a small patent firm. We started out remote so all of our documents are currently in Google Drive in organized folders and sub folders.

As we grow, I think we need a more sophisticated document management system to identify docs with doc ID, search functionality, etc.

Suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I hope that’s at least an enterprise version of Google Drive, not the free version. But at any rate, you’d be surprised what you can do these days just with MS Office/One Drive. Not quite as sophisticated on version control, but pretty robust.

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?
