What are some things you can no longer do once you become a parent?

I cheated... we aren’t supposed to do real art in the morning. We watch an art video and discuss in the morning, then in the afternoon we post an instructional video and the kids do a small project at home... I cheated yesterday. I handed out air dry clay and went to town with my 3rd grades.... the kids said it was the most fun art class ever. I will get in trouble for passing stuff out, but I needed it. So did the kids. Best art day all year!

I found out I am ~ 5.5 weeks pregnant after I missed my periods and through blood tests. Few days back I had sore breasts and stomach cramping.

Although I still have cramping but the breast soreness has reduced a bit.

Should I be worried? I have ultrasound scheduled this Friday!

Laid off in May and now applying for a new full time role w previous employer. I’ve also been approached by someone in a related team at same company for a contract role through at least next May. The hitch is I’m 4 mo pregnant, due in late Feb. I feel like I’ll need to disclose this for the contract role but I don’t want to potentially jeopardize the FT opportunity. What would you do? So far I’ve just said I’d be interested in considering the contract if the FT position doesn’t work out.

So, how much work are you giving elementary students? I just got the calendar from my kid’s teacher. While I am teaching from home, I’m supposed to make sure my kid does 4+ hours of work.

Am I tripping? Everyone loves calling my daughter (2 months) "lil chocolate drop" or "look at all that chocolate". I love my daughter's complexion, not only because it's mine, but because it's beautiful. However, I can't help but feeling like ppl "other" or make it weird by avoiding saying dark. Calling her dark is acceptable and appreciated. I know "chocolate" comes from a place of affection, but I just can't embrace it 💯.
