What are the exit opportunities for IT audit? I admittedly have an easy job but I’m not motivated because people don’t value audit and it’s like a dead end career since we will never become the CAE unlike financial audit folks. I have been looking for other jobs but I would only get calls for IT Audit related roles. Please share your stories if you successfully moved outside of audit.

At what point are you too specialized to lateral to internal audit? (PA, consulting, or industry roles) Currently have 2 years of external audit experience and 2 years of forensics: I always thought of internal audit as a decent exit but I’m beginning to get worried about getting too specialized to make that move one day

Does anyone have any insight into partners retiring early? I am at a point where I need to consider leaving if I am not aiming for partner. I don’t see myself working past my 40s. My partner and I are not big spenders and anticipate have enough to retire comfortably in 40s (obviously a lot can change). I have been assured I will become SM in next year (currently 31 years old).

Is it normal for Managers have to take on roles both as a Senior and a Manger at the same time due to shortage in PA. Im at a midtier and a lot of my jobs don’t have Seniors and Partners don’t want to delay these jobs.
