Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Apparently, you do not have a career directly related to digital marketing because you do not know what community managers do, so they will surely look for someone more experienced to fill the position of marketing manager
I don't think it's the way to get to a managerial position, although as a sales specialist you have experience in strategies to work in the marketing department, and even more so as a manager you have to have direct experience, I don't think you have much chance unless that you talk to your boss and say that you want to enter that area.
Do not take it lightly, they are similar but they are not the same, marketing and sales are two different worlds, I think the first thing you should do is train in the marketing area if you want a position in that department.
Communication and problem-solving skills are very important. If you are preparing for a higher position, you should also upgrade your skills. Best of luck, OP!
The comments above already mentioned everything that I could think of. What's the job description of your boss' role?
