What is a good lawyer or law firm I can reach regarding wrongful termination in Vancouver?

I work remotely for an American Silicon Valley company. I work out of Vancouver personally, so I have never met my colleagues except once last year visiting the US.

I’ve been stonewalled by management, where they barely offer help and refuse to speak with me in meetings (I work remotely). Lately they handed me a PIP which involves being too slow for a project they have prevented me from handing off.

Suggest you talk to a big firm that has both canadian and American expertise. Law firms would include: Gowling, DLA, Norton Rose.

Is your contract a US-employment contract or are you considered a canadian employee? Employment law differs quite a bit between the two.

Are you an employee at all or contractor? Based on the PIP, you’d be more employee but it’s important to consider.

I think one of the most important things to consider would be if you are an employee or a contractor and if there is a PIP, how long were you given to improve?

Full time employee/30 days, but the reasoning is slightly vague and gives me reason to believe that it would be very easy for them to do anything if they wanted upon signing.

First, I think you'd have to determine whether you'd need a US attorney or a Vancouver one. The international piece might make things more complicated. Good luck - I hope you get the result you are seeking.

Need some advice. During May of 2021 an operations manager and an hourly Hr employee started a relationship while the ops manager was married. We had supervisors give us pictures of those two kissing at workFast forward they are now engaged and getting married. The HR worker does not work here anymore since July 2021. Is it too late to investigate the ops manager for misconduct ? The ops manager has worked here for 15 years and is super valuable, the operation literally can not run without him.

In theory I could see this working situationally, but as a whole philosophy regardless of the patient's issue I think it's ridiculous.

My boss won’t stop sexually harassing me. Verbally, email, texts - 400+. He even set up his office with a display of sex toys and edibles condiments to show me that he planned to give me oral sex. All started 3 weeks into the job. I moved my family cross country for this job and just bought a house. He promises me none of his requests or my responses will affect my job and is just begging now to be friends with me. Tell me what would you do if you were me.

So I have family situation I've been dealing with and yesterday at a company function outside the office, my supervisor brought it up in front of a bunch of people. First of all highly inappropriate, but also it's nobody's business. She's made comments before outside of work about how her boss is gay, blah blah blah. I'm just at a loss. Should I report it to HR? And if I do, how do I do it without it being known that it came from me??

Hi does anyone work at EY in BC? Willing to chat about what it’s like if I applied from the US?

Living in Van. Previously lived in Toronto. Obviously rent prices are high as is cost of living. Generally go out and spend more often living in a city. Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. A commute to Vancouver 1-2 times a month needs to be possible (his job). That can be a flight if it’s not crazy. Thoughts? Recommendations?
