What is a reasonable range of total comp (base, bonus, stock) for a tax manager going into industry?

Other facts that may be relevant:
SF bay area
Mix of responsibilities across several speciality areas (think it/salt, but more specialized)
Mid size company (30B market cap)

Currently in TCS basic is low around 20-25% of your salary.

As per the proposed new wage rules, basic should be 50% of package. So this will eventually increase Gratuity of long timer TCS.

In a case, if my Gratuity stands at 1 Lakh say, with new wage rules it will be 2.5 Lakhs.. Is my understanding correct? Will the company pay from their pocket for this?

Does anyone have an idea on what salary should be expected when applying to a major biotech company (GSK, Novartis, J&J, AbbVie etc...) as an entry level (3 years experience) Pharmacology & Toxicology master degree with an emphasis in Drug Discovery and Development with technical expertise in electrophysiology/neuroscience domain (several published papers on sodium channels) ?

Does anybody feel pretty demoralized with their salary and amount of work they do? (I mean, I know the general consensus is yes for our field.) I don’t want to write a long emotional rant but I’m a year in, I make 100K, have 200K debt and with LA inflation, I feel like I can barely afford food. (Ramen is $20 now??) Recent new hire here.. is there a way to see your specific level within your rank (e.g. senior 1 vs. senior 2)? Or is this something to ask HR? There wasn’t any indication during the hiring process unless it could be inferred by salary. Thanks!

Go to EY for Manager one position in private client derives or Deloitte? Which gives better resources. Which has better people. Everyone that I interviewed with were great so it’s hard decision! Pay is way more at Deloitte with sign on bonus higher than EY for manager one position.

How are firms in LCOL or MCOL competing with firms in HCOL that are offering 1st year tax seniors with 2-3 years experience $100k+ and the ability to work remote?!

Are there any tax qualifications worth getting aside from a Masters or CPA? I have no masters and no desire to go back to college full time.
