What’s a fun car to drive? My job is starting to ask people to go once or twice to the office, and i need to buy a 2nd car. I have a 3-row awd suv for the fam. Not sure what to get. Wife gave me the stink eye when i mentioned a 2-seater (if we have another child, we need both cars to be somewhat practical… maybe a 2-dr with four seats?? Lol)

Porsche 911 is the only right call here. Buy it will and it will not depreciate. Generally reliable. Has rear seats. 4/4S/Turbo fine in winter as well.

I think it’s fair to say that there’s a wide spectrum to sensible, emotional reasoning for spending good money on something that will make you very happy but that might yield no other return. Am i high while i type this nonsense? Yes. Am i wrong? Not sure. I’m still high. I’ll come back tomorrow.

Honestly any “sport compact” would be right up your alley.

Id personally go for the GR86/BRZ, but Elantra N, GTI, maybe even holding out till later this month to see what the new Civic Type R is looking like.

All those options will be fun, relatively affordable, and practical enough to not be annoying.

like

Im rooting for this 2023 type R. Especially after the sti died.

My Audi A4 S-line is very fun to drive.

BMW i3, EV, it’s the fastest BMW off the line, it’s free to drive (negligible electric cost) and it’s fun.

Yea the new i4 m50 and iX m60 are ridiculously quick for their weight

I never do this but I need some objective advice. My wife is 5mo pregnant and my sister is getting married. Wedding was adjusted because of COVID but she set the date knowing I might not be able to attend as I’d have to fly there. Now I’m conflicted because if I attend, I’d have to quarantine for 2 weeks away from my wife and miss a couple DR appts. I’m her only support where we live. Would be stressful for her but I’m getting immense pressure from my parents to attend the wedding. Advice?

Advice and/or consolation anyone? My wife and I (both above average health 30year olds) were trying for 11 months before getting pregnant and then had a week 5 early miscarriage a few months back. If the stress and surprise of just how difficult it apparently is to get pregnant wasn’t enough, the miscarriage put us over. We got back to it and have been trying for the last 2 months again, still no luck. We’re freaking out… all we want is a family. Any similar stories? Advice? 😢

So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

Had an FET transfer and just got the news that the pregnancy test is negative. Feeling very defeated about it. All my labs are good (AMH 3.1) and the embryos were PGA tested. Have only two left now, and this was the best quality one. The irony is I did feel pregnant couple days after transfer but then I stopped feeling pregnant. I read that some women don’t really “feel” pregnant until 6-7 weeks… but i did “feel” then stopped. It just sucks. If you have any advice for coping, I’d appreciate it.

Every time I speak to my director (at least twice a week), he works in how he is getting older into the conversation(humorously). For instance, he forgot something non-work related, said “sign of old age”. He recently told a story, said, this is how old people talk. He likes to come across as a grandfatherly figure, but I’m not sure what to say in these encounters. It is always an innocent, non work related context. Have you guys experienced this ?
