Best YouTube channel to learn Salesforce?
Hi Guys,
I had referred my friend in CTS, who joined in Feb 2022 & will complete 3 months (active payroll) on 15-May-2022. I received a mail confirming my referral acceptance.
Meanwhile, I have handed in my papers & am serving my notice period with my LWD being 23-May-2022. In this case, will I receive the referral bonus?

Lack of security, it’s quite difficult, and there is a social stigma to being a “salesman” almost as if it’s not thought of as a successful career. That’s highly incorrect for the high levels of it of course especially but that’s the way it is. The skills behind it also aren’t something everyone can learn, it’s not like being an engineer, in software, or marketing, etc. It’s much more abstract than that even if there are methodologies and principles you can follow, some peoples brains just can’t do that. It also frankly takes some metaphorical balls that other jobs just don’t. The stress level is also higher.
Honestly I don't think that sales is for everyone. Some people really don't have the personality or the communications skills for it. And unfortunately some things can be taught but some things cannot.
Most people have a sheep mentality, and choose comfort and the perception of security and stability of a normal career / job. But cmon, you already knew this as a sales manager.
"But come on you knew this ......" jajajaja, exactly
I transitioned from public relations to sales and it’s been the best thing ever. We notice in our neighborhood just about everyone with the best homes has a career in sales. I’ve been able to make $350-500k yearly the last few years and $160-240k prior to that. Not bad for a female (or anyone)! Our son is in college and knew right off the bat he wanted to go into sales and why. It’s funny it’s never mentioned when talking about lucrative careers because you can make way more than engineers, accountants doctors and lawyers if you’re selling in the right industry. Not to mention those jobs sound like great starting salaries, but they’re not counting sales plus commission and they plateau. Unless you’re a partner in those industries, you may be doing well, but not hitting high numbers like that.
So do you get residual income or paid on renewals after building your book of business? From what I experience it’s into cross-sell or upsell or new logos
Some just don’t have what it takes. Yeah it’s a breeze physically. But mentally and emotionally it can take a toll. I read an article one time and I’ll see if I can find it but it was the average use by profession that people took anti anxiety/depression medication. Sales was through the roof over everything else.
That's super interesting
People have different strengths and not everyone is made for everything. That is especially true with sales. It’s a skill you cultivate and grow over time, but if you don’t have it at all to start with, you will have a really difficult time and I’ve seen it more than once around here.
When I was 16, I took an aptitude test that said "Applicant is ONLY good for Sales! Too dumb for anything else! "
Are they hiring remote? I am in Ga.
It’s not for everyone - and there’s a wide variety of Sales. Are we talking medical/pharma sales, industrial supplies, wireless carrier b2b, insurance, tech product or perhaps tech services?
And then are we talking about Inside Sales position or Field Sales. Base plus Commission structure also vary all over the place.
Some make it and many don’t - some sales areas have high turnover and some don’t make quota or can’t handle the stress of meeting quarterly quotas. Others embrace the challenge and you have to like talking/meeting people all day.
At my prior Tech Solution company - I couldn’t do Field Sales because it required HEAVY travel and I’ve done that for many years in the past and it wasn’t for me anymore at this stage in my life.
Not everyone has what it takes. I've worked with sales reps for over 20 years and have seen some phenomenal sales reps. I have also seen some pretty awful ones. If you have no communication skills, are not a people person, are offended easily, and, overly aggressive on sales tactics, its not the job for you. I am fantastic at what I do but face to face sales, not for me. I cannot hide my facial expressions or BS anyone. Some people are born for sales, some aren't.
Sales is a great way to make money. However, too many companies are ruining that now by being too greedy and not paying the salesman commission. But have these stupid little shell games for your pay. If it's straight commission sales job, it's a good job.
Sales commission only jobs with no base are good jobs?
Highest paying easy work, or the lowest paying hard work.
It is the least steady job you could choose... when a company starts losing revenue, the sales people go first.
I think for most people it’s the hours, working weekends, and time away from family. I also think no guarantee of income scares them.
I am trying to get into sales! I have a science background and would love to land an entry level science sales position, with years of experience in labs, but I'm finding it extremely difficult to enter the sales world.
People don’t realise the hush hush benefits as a Sales. Take retail for example. When it comes to end of season inventory clearances, staff would get up to 90% off merchandise. I never pay full price knowing what some of these things are worth cost price. Also the very resson Sales is commission based, the low salary is justified by your impact on overall targets, if you manage to be good at selling a story, clients eat that up and are willing to pay any sum to own a piece of history. The fact is, people want a figure to dictate the worth of a career, but what is valuable to one person is trash to another. Same goes for the benefits you enjoy from one job is useless to another.
I have been in sales for the past 30 plus years. I have made very good money for what I did. I left my last job after 12 years because of the micro management and the hyper focus on KPI's which were silly (my sales were not even a KPI). I am now in a Sales job where there has been no training and no direction. If I was not working for a friend I would have been gone months ago.
