Posting for my bf: he’s a 3rd year quant/programmer at a top asset mgmt firm in a final round interview with a finance start up. He’s proven he can add a lot of value that they need but is overqualified for what they’re looking for. Tips on upselling to a more senior role or negotiating details? He currently gets ~180 TC but is willing to take a pay cut

Current tax associate interviewing for a senior associate position at BDO this week. Anyone have any advice for experienced hire tax interviews in general? Or more specifically interviews at BDO for those who have completed them. Any help is appreciated!

Have been interviewing for a few months and have gotten mostly rejections so far. Now in the final stages with 2 companies... 1st is a FAANG where I have Individual contributor role at a senior level - 425 k tc (175 base + 250k rsu per year) and 2nd is a svp level role with large very well known tech consulting firm where I will report to ceo of my business unit with similar tc of 400k (325k plus 75k bonus.) I have 20 yoe. Which one would u choose if u r me.. assuming u get both offers?

I am deep into the interview process for a controller job. It is for a small PE owned manufacturing company. I will be responsible for helping through multiple acquisitions, ERP system implementation, revamp of internal control structure, etc. I am a first year senior manager and have helped clients through all of the above but it’s a bit daunting thinking about being on other side and creating everything myself from scratch. Anyone else experience this anxiety when making jump to industry?

Does anyone have any insight into the internal transfer process? Current B4 senior 2 trying to transfer from audit to FDD after busy season. I’ve been networking with a lot the m&a folks and have been in touch with a recruiter. It seems like it’s a go to interview from the m&a side but having trouble getting the audit side to budge or even respond to my emails. Also was wondering if there is a difference in the interview process for internal vs external. Thanks!

I’m interviewing for BCG in a couple months. I have almost 2 YOE at a boutique operations consulting firm and have promo’d twice to manager (🐠 title not updated yet). What level would I come into BCG at - would I have a chance at senior associate or is it more likely to be entry level undergrad role?

I have an interview with Deloitte tomorrow and part of that process will be to determine if I would be a better fit for the consultant or senior consultant role. Tips for PWC Senior associate interview? Within operations, it says technical interview, but I’m not applying for a technical role. Tips on what to expect?

what’s the typical KPMG advisory interview process for a senior associate?

Facing an interesting dilemma about compensation vs title and looking for advice. I am currently a Senior Manager in the industry (work in Financial Systems). I recently got an offer for a Senior Business Analyst role (total compensation of $250K) in the same city - my current comp is $170K. The role is a major step down in title and responsibilities but gives me almost 50% increase in TC. The only reason interviewed at all is the TC.

I really need help from everyone here: I am a tax senior, and I have offer from both EY and MNP. I was at Deloitte earlier and I am not sure which to pick. Same package/benefits. While EY is a great firm and the partners are amazing and all experiences of Big4 and it's resources, MNP has this charm of a Canadian firm and great culture. I don't know much but people say MNP is a great organization. The people I will work with are all amazing to speak during interview. What to do now?

I recently interviewed at GoJek and cleared all of the rounds. I even got a call from HR that you have been selected for the senior software engineer role. He then asked me my expected salary. Which i gave a ballpark figure of 28 Laks PA. Since then it has been 3 days and I haven't heard back. Should i call him back and quote a lower price? Need your advice here.

Seems like the “Financial Analyst” role is just a new title for Accountant. I’m on my third interview for a Senior Financial Analyst position but the job description seems to be a mixture of both general accounting activities but also financial statement analysis. Is this a trap? Or is it truly a hybrid finance/accounting role?
