I'm supposed to set up time with the VPs next week to introduce myself. How should handle this calI? "Hi - here's my background, call me if you're hiring?" don't think they're going to hire me without transaction experience. Fake it until you make it? Maybe propose coming in as an analyst if they say no?

Genuinely curious how common is a non-lateral (step up) move from T2/boutique to MBB? My experience so far has opened up an opportunity to interview for McK Associate with 3 YoE at a boutique consulting firm out of undergrad. I'm the equivalent of a Senior Analyst at McK at my current firm so a bit surprised I even got the call.

Currently working at a T2 strategy house. I’ve been doing some LinkedIn searches and it seems like there are a fair few consultants who’ve exited into Director / Senior Manager of Strategy roles. I’m currently applying for Strategy Manager positions, because the more senior roles all seem to ask for 7+ YOE. None of the people I’m seeing on LinkedIn exited with that much experience. In a process of interviewing for a technical accounting manager job. Hiring manager told me that the position won’t have staff oversight responsibilities. So I feel this is a glorified senior accountant job under a manager title. The raise is decent 20%. Growth opportunity seems to be ok, 2 SM above me, one manager who has more experience, and 2 accountants that the SM oversees. It is technical accounting, so probably doing special projects etc. Should I take the offer?

So interviewed at EY with comp expectations around 120k for senior in consulting (its the range the recruiter gave me), now they're coming back at me with a "we can't go that high, so what's the minimum it'll take to get you to move". What do third year consulting seniors make? I'm not trying to be unreasonable, but not trying to leave money on the table.

Senior Analyst 8 months in - thinking of escaping. Is it okay to start applying to associate positions to start when hitting the 1 year mark?

I'm getting a lot of interviews at companies, what will likely amount to a ~30% pay bump. I'm currently going into my 2nd year as a tax senior. Is it premature to leave? The biggest downside I see is the loss of a standard promotion path. The money and work life balance sounds good now but am I foolish for not sticking it out longer in public until at least manager? Last year I took a few interviews after 2 busy seasonsand got an offer for 80k+bonus in fund accounting, ended up not taking it but overall most jobs were around 80-85.
