Am I crazy? 6th year, inhouse my whole career, but getting interesting offers from firms. There's much more for me to do at current place, unless multiple more senior lawyers leave. Offer I'm entertaining rn: AMlaw 200 brings me in as my class year w/promotion to Sr. Assoc in Jan 2022. Got on really well w/partners and Sr. assoc I interviewed with (we went over time). Pay/benefits decent. 1800 billables. I'll learn a lot more, do stuff I've never done and 🤞be a more desirable inhouse candidate.

Salary for a senior account executive at a Pharma agency in NYC? Want to make sure I’m not lowballing myself in an interview.

I had an interview for an senior mgmt role at a bank and the interview was going very well. Beginning of the interview, she mentioned my resume was very impressive. She also said I was extremely intelligent and that I had a bright future; however they’re interviewing people with over 26 years of experience and would want someone more seasoned. I’m feeling super discouraged. Why bother with my resume at all?

Just received an offer for moving to another consulting firm. Position is a level up and offered a base that is a little less than 30% increase from current salary. How should I negotiate as I was told this was a senior level potion during the interviews but unsure of the salary band and it’s a more niche firm and I am 3 yrs out of undergrad. Thanks!

Hey all, just wondering if anyone here has been through the referral process with McKinsey? An associate partner referred me two weeks ago and I haven't heard back yet. Trying to align McKinsey with my other interviews so hoping people here can give me a better idea. Also spoke with a senior partner a few days ago who said timeline shouldn't be an issue (after I explained everything) , but not sure if they actually looked into it or not.

Big law to a PI firm - does anyone have any experience making this move? Has anyone here left big law and come to regret it?

I’ve toyed with the idea of doing PI for years, and I’ve been interviewing with a multi-office, semi-volume-oriented PI firm. But it’s daunting. The initial pay won’t be nearly as much and that my exit options will be more limited once I leave.

That said, I don’t think my exit options as a litigator will be all that great if I go on to be a senior associate at my firm.

Can anyone provide insight into IA roles for credit unions and insurance companies? Been interviewing and I’m unsure. For the credit union, I would be the only IA as it’s a new role they’ve created - they haven’t had any IA’s in the past as the duties were shared between depts. I would report directly to CEO. For the insurance company. The department consists of 3 senior auditors and a manager. I would report to the manager. They both seemed to be slower paced than PA which is what I want.

Trying to exit out of PA as a senior with CPA, and I’m applying to FP&A, Sr. Accountant, and Sr. revenue accountant roles to cast my net wide. When the time comes, I’m not really sure which one I would chose. Nothing particularly interests me, and I’ve just been slowly inching forward in my life without a real direction. 2.5 YOE in consulting - being offered partnerships role at Sony. Comp doubled but am also interviewing with MBB. Should I take it or stick with consulting? I’ve enjoyed consulting so far (to promote this year), but am also a music lover!!

Currently Senior 2 and have been offered a position as Assistant Fund Controller. I know that the position in the market normally requires 5 years+ and the title really varies in the industry. The job posting also indicated a requirement of 3 years+ in accounting and I was completely honest in the interviews that I lack industry experience since I started working at EY fresh out of college. I can’t shake the feeling that I am under-qualified for the position. Am I being overthinking?

Got an interview opportunity at an IB recently for an Analyst role. I’m a Senior consultant with a Masters Degree with 2 years of work experience. When I asked if they’d offer me Associate instead of Analyst, they said that no one from B4 exits to an IB at associate with just 2 years of work ex. Is this true? A goal of mine is to leave my PA firm (one of the big 4) this year. Currently in my fourth busy season. Do you think I should wait until getting promoted to senior and leave right after, or leave after this spring busy season? I’m interviewing with the same company for a senior finance analyst and senior financial accounting analyst positions. Anyone familiar with salary in orange county (SoCal) and LA/El Segundo area? Interviewed for a senior accountant role in a public health care industry in Irvine, but their maximum pay is 85K. I thought Irvine should have pretty good pay too but this surprises me. Even a private Healthcare company in El Segundo pays more than that for the same role but with even lesser experience and easier job duties...

Is this salary too low? I'm @ final interview for senior accountant and job posting said $60-65k. Before you say it's too low right away, my experience is on a low end of this of this role. Just 1 year auditer @ national top 10, 6 months intern at same firm, 1 year accounting intern at local private firm, and 2 years doing AP clerk. I'm a licensed CPA and in MCOL. I really want this title for growth but don't want to get stiffed. It's a large corp w/ great benefits.

I was interviewing with an agency last year - it didn’t work out because they needed someone more senior but was an overall really positive process on both sides - I still really admire the agency and the work and am ready to leave my current agency - is it pointless to reach back out?

Does the level of the referrer matter in terms of getting an interview/offer at Google? Is it better to get it from a lower-level employee who knows you well vs getting it from a more senior person whom you’ve only met once?
