Anybody here have experience in an Operations Associate role at Citadel?

Is applying to T2/b4 strategy firms doable for me? Currently ~2 YOE in a Transformation role at a less prestigious, well known firm (below tier 2) and think that I’d like to switch to strategy. Masters and good UG resume. I started looking at associate/analyst roles but don’t have referrals. Will lack of referrals hurt me? Are those entry level jobs the ones I should be focused on? I know it’s tough to transition into those firms so I want to make sure I’m not wasting my time. TIA!

I am going into my second year as a tax senior associate. Just got off the phone with a recruiter from industry discussing their current tax openings. At RSM, we will likely be finding out our raises in the next week or two. If my estimate of my raise is correct, the industry position will be about $5k more. Is this worth it to leave public accounting?

Anyone from KPMG AAS willing to share the hours and YOE&Comp in HCOL? I am in an awkward situation: I’ll be promoted to S1 (audit) in August at a midsize firm but just got an offer for an associate position in AAS from KPMG. I don’t know if it’s appropriate to negotiate title because i feel like I am moving downward at this point, but also I want to go to AAS. Any inputs /thoughts are appreciated!

Recruiter from KF reached out for an Associate Principal role with ZS Associates. Said AP’s pull total comp of ~$1M. Glassdoor shows AP comp around 300k. Can anyone comment on validity? Don’t want to waste my time or theirs if the recruiter is just playing games. (Health Payer Digital / VBC)

Hi! Have a total of 4 years of experience in consulting (B4). Have an offer from BCG for senior associate and an offer from a pre-ipo tech company for a M role. Tech company is ~$85k higher cash comp (+ equity). I can appreciate the doors BCG would open — if I take the tech company would I close the door on getting into MBB in the future? No MBA. Thanks!

Partners - in your opinion and based on what you have seen, what’s a better time to exit consulting - as a partner to a CXO role or as a Partner (-1) / Associate Principal to a VP/SVP role, if someone wants to maximize growth and retire (relatively) early? @KPMG folks, I am in the process of interviewing for an Associate role for Deals Advisory and Independence. I was initially offered -what feels like- a lowball offer of 65 for NYC.

Have an offer in hand for an AmLaw100 lockstep. Corporate / M&A mid level associate. Didn’t use a recruiter (attorney referral from inside firm). Mostly satisfied with the offer. Procedurally how should I go about negotiating things like signing bonus, full bonus vs pro rated bonus / Covid bonus eligibility? Obviously this would normally be done recruiter to recruiter. Do I contact the internal recruiter or one of the head partners I interviewed with? Email vs call?

Is it bad to mention that you are looking to move into a role to get promoted earlier than a year when you join a new company in an interview? I am few months away from being a GAS or associate account director based on yoe.

Thoughts on pursuing a new role at another agency when you might be on the verge of being promoted into the same role at your current one? I wasn’t really looking but a former coworker mentioned my name at the potential new agency for a Copywriter position (currently Associate CW). Mckinsey recruiter reached out to me telling they would like to pass me to my final round. But haven’t had the chance to discuss pay. This is an associate position at Mck Solutions and I have 6 YoE and a Master’s in Engineering. Should I even bother asking about pay now ? Asking this only because I’m on a path to manager (+pay bump) with my current company.

I am interested in switching to Product Management for a tech company but not ready to jump ship yet. Currently I am a Advisory Senior Associate and have the opportunity to take on a Project Manager role at my current tech client. This is not where I want to take my career but I will do it if it may increase my chances of breaking into Product in near future. Would having such on my resume/gaining this experience help?
