Got a phone screen coming up with PwC for an advisory associate role. How should I go about discussing salary? I know I’m probably getting the “salary expectations” question. Just wanted to hear different perspectives on how to navigate this question. Also, are sign in bonuses the norm? If so, what’s the average $ and what are the terms?

Are CSPO, PSPO (Scrum Product Owner) certs helpful if trying to get an associate PO role in industry? Should I find non-Scrum related PO certs/training material? Looking for brand strategy related PO roles in Media & Entertainment.

I recently left T2 consulting for a pre IPO tech firm that’ll go public this year that offered me 135k base + 80k RSUs / year. It’s in a role / function that I’m not too personally passionate about, but I like the culture / WLB and think I can switch teams down the line. However, I also received an offer (about 2 months after starting my new job) with BCG for their senior associate role. It’s going to be a pay cut for sure, but is it worth taking since I’m not passionate about my role rn? TIA!

Alumni or current employees of cohnreznick. Read some employee reviews on Glassdoor and Indeed and one complaint was that promotion was super competitive and made it seem they are hard to come by. Although the posters did not reveal their position, I assume that it was Senior to Manager, Manager to SM as it’s generally easier to move from associate to senior. Do you agree that promotions are super competitive? More so than B4 (for those who have experience in both)?

I’m currently in design and love my role, but am getting bored with the field and feel I’ve maxed out my growth. I’ve wanted to go into product management for a long time, but am currently at FB and they make you jump through too many hoops to switch into PM. I got offered an Associate PM role at General Motors and am thinking of accepting because it makes sense long term, but it’s also a high stakes loss if I don’t like it. I actually like my job now and don’t work crazy hours etc. Thoughts?

Generally speaking, when a job posting is listed as associate, senior consultant, etc. is the firm open to hiring a qualified candidate for the level below? For example, if a job posting is for an associate with 4 YOE, would the company entertain the idea of hiring an analyst with 2 YOE?

Hello Fishbowl - sincerely requesting your help and advice. I am a 4 year associate - with a law background. After numerous conversations with my manager, I finally read between the lines and realized there is no room for growth on the team or even an opp to become a VP “unless a current VP a moves up.” Often I am told that I have my team’s support but nothing really happens - it’s a mental toll. Been trying to find an external role and it’s been super hard. Any advice on how to deal with this?

Do titles matter in tech companies. I am being offered a senior associate role with 220 TC (22 percent increase from current TC) but I see that many senior managers have lesser experience than me

I’m currently a few interviews in for a position within industry where I would be working as an associate product manager. Before the last interview, they are asking I send over work related to recent projects (I.e. project plan and schedule, status reports I’ve created for clients, and a slide deck I’ve done for a client). I would obviously scrub any client data/names, but I guess I was wondering if this is a normal request? I feel a little uneasy sending it over even after scrubbing it.
