Came across a job listing for a company I love. I found the director the role reports to on LinkedIn and he just posted about the position 2 hrs ago. Feels like I should pounce on it.. thoughts on reaching out directly? Or just go thru standard application process?

Have two very solid offers that I’m entertaining one a director role in biotech and another for a boutique consulting firm. Both higher base (13% increase and target ranges 25-30%) but I have only been at EY for two years. Currently an M3, I feel like there is a lot of unknowns after COVID and that I haven’t fully experienced everything the firm has to offer but at the same time this is a lot of money to give up. Anyone in the same boat or experiencing this dilemma. Any advice would be great.

Is Director/Senior Manager a good spot to make a switch to big tech? Too late? Definitely don’t want to take a step down in terms of position or money, if only I’d be interested in making those prospects better. Been in consulting too long to know whether I’m making the right switch. Thanks

I finished a Phone interview with the Hiring manager and a whole day of video interviews with the director, engineering manager and some Sr. Product Managers. I thought this was the last round.
The recruiter emailed me saying I have a last phone interview with the peer director of the director who interviewed me.
Any insight on what to expect ? I have another offer on hold

Getting staffed on a deal where I am the only manager who will run the day to day. I am finalizing a position at a new firm and plan to put in my two weeks shortly. Should I let my director know prior to me formally giving my notice to HR so he can begin finding someone else with capacity to run with this. I don’t want to screw the guy as we’re likely having kickoff calls and initial diligence sessions next week.

Interviewed for a biotech company Director role, told me I did great but chose someone internal for the role. They offered to open an SM role just for me instead (5YOE, MPH) with the hopes of becoming director after working at the company. Should I take it? Do I have room to negotiate anything?

Can you get a director-level position in industry at the EM or AP level without prior industry experience?

Thinking about leaving consulting. If I’m a 2nd year Senior Consultant, with 10 YOE total what’s the likelihood of exiting to a Director level role? We know that Big 4 Manager tends to Director/Sr Director in industry. But, having the title Manager on CV as your current position may under cut your chances to get the Director level exit. Is that true? If yes, what is the workaround?

I am a business development manager in a small biotech incubator. My end goal is to work in commercial, BD or operations within a big pharma/biotech company. What would be best for me:

1) stay in my company to quickly become BD Director and then exit (however my learning opportunities within my current company might be limited)
2) go do consulting for a few years
3) any other recommendations?

My director told me there is a relocate opportunity to move from internal auditor to a financial analyst role, which is in another business unit/city/state and I like that new city more than the current city. I am not sure whether I should accept the opportunity? BTW I am moving to internal audit senior this year while the new role is an entry level financial analyst. Thoughts on exiting to SAAS sales? Currently at a boutique in a niche practice area (7.5YOE, $270K TC, 190 base, 80 bonus) but being recruited to a Series C tech that is providing digital solution to our advisory model. Comp is 300-350TC (50/50 base and bonus) plus equity. New role is Director level in strategic account management. Anyone make a change like this before?

Need advice for an interview for a mid-level consulting position with a partner tomorrow. From what I understand it will be an hour long behavioral interview which I think is pretty long. First interview was a pretty straightforward behavioral interview with a director. Not sure what to expect. Any questions I should ask in particular?

Why do most manager level consultants exit to Tech? I work a lot in consumer, and the exit opps as an EM are of higher title (maybe similar salary) as tech. Eg. Tech would be manager exit, consumer could be director.
