I’ve been a high performing IC at my company for 5 years, and every time a manager role comes up that I want to go for, I’m told that ‘it will be a pay cut’ and ‘I might be bored moving to management’ etc…I’m already the most senior sales rep in the office & regularly help out teammates. I feel ready to try and make the move to manager, but I’m always told to ‘hang in there as things might come up that will be more fitting later’. I feel I won’t ever get the opportunity to lead. Any advice?

I’m doing my final round interviews with Strategy& PEVC group for Senior Manager role. They mentioned it would be a case interview. Any idea what to expect? Is it like post MBA case interview where you are asked to build a framework, shown a ton of charts etc etc?

Currently in financial services tax WAM federal group at B4, manager. Seriously considering the exit and have been applying actively in various industries (not the typical PE or hedge funds in house role). Which industry is the best in terms of growth opportunities and pay? Fintech? Info/technology? E-learning? My end goal is becoming a head of tax and I want to choose my first industry role wisely. Don't want to get pigeonholed into a dying industry.

Any idea who is hiring H1Bs (no I-140). Every firm I have applied to, either clearly says no visa dependent or after interviewing, asks questions reg. My visa situation and then ghosts me.

Can you move firms to get a promotion or you need to already be in the position? I have been passed over for manager. I'm not a cpa but a jd and have been told this is an issue.I'm not an accountant so my business tax prep skills are a sub par but ok, my reviews say I excel well beyond others in getting the tax law correct and well argued when taking positions on IRS issues & complicated tax law questions and am sought out to do it. Why do I have to be a jack of all trades? Can't I specialize?

Is $175k base + bonus a realistic industry exit for a new accounting advisory Manager in NYC? I've had the title for 2 months and what about in 1 year? I'm seeing Accounting Manager job postings in the $120k-140 range and that doesn't seem worth it for me. I don't know if I'm out of touch with what companies are paying.

How is the work-life balance at ICICI Bank BKC office?I will be joining at Manager (Band 2) position next month.

Was just offered $135k base at Accenture for a Manager level role. What is the appropriate range and was I low balled? Total comp doesn't make me whole versus my current package in industry.

A recruiter reached out from AWS for a Sr Engagement Manager position. Currently a Senior Manager in a consulting firm. Recommend proceeding forward?

How Senior is this AWS position? What is the career path? What range of compensation would this AWS position have? I tend to always low ball myself, want to ensure if I am genuinely interested I ask for reasonable compensation.

Currently interviewing with Barclays. I made it past the first round interview with the hiring manager and now interviewing with 3 other individuals. The role is a mix of product/strategy/innovation.

Been on the job hunt for the past 3 months. Applied to 200+. Interviewed with 15 companies (big tech + mid sized) but failing at either hiring manager round or ghosted after onsite. I’ve spent hours everyday applying, researching companies and prepping for interviews, watching videos, reading books, but just can’t seem to close the deal. Feeling so stuck, anxious and frustrated all the time.

It’s a senior global role in tech so im a bit nervous, it’s fully remote and offers a big salary. I have in-house and agency experience with global brands which is why they wanted to talk to me.

I have an offer from a mid-sized hedge fund to do business analytics (essentially management reporting), but have interviews with Google (product analyst - data science) and Citadel (compliance project manager) lined up. 1. Nagarro - 27.5 LPA + 1L Joining Bonus
Role: Staff Engineer (Lead)

2. Eli Lilly - 30.2 LPA + 1.5L Joining Bonus
Role: Manager

I chose Nagarro as it is in my home city and there is not much difference in inhand salary as Nagarro salary components is pretty good in saving taxes.
But in terms of work culture and service vs product based companies, did I made a right decision?
