I’m applying for the solution engineer role at Salesforce with 2 YOE in Deloitte’s salesforce practice at the SC level leading Salesforce discovery and implementations. What level of solution engineer should I target? Associate SE, SE, Senior SE?

4 rounds deep in an interview process right now and I’m in a bit of a pickle… I got excited during the first couple rounds and said I was still at PwC when I actually left in May. I have 1 more round to go with the highest level senior.

I just got offered a relatively senior role at a competitor. They told me base and bonus. They said they wouldn't give me a physical offer letter until I accept.

I do want to see if my current group gives me a counter offer.

I feel like this puts in a bad spot, because I have two options

1) Go to my boss without a physical offer letter, which is risky, because I both have no proof, & they can pull it at any time

or

2) Verbally accept, get the physical offer, and then go to my boss...which

In need of advice. I am wrapping up my masters in accounting while I am working in consulting; however, I am interested in tax. I want to transfer when I finish in May but seems like all the openings posted in ToD seems to be for tax seniors and above. I have pretty strong connections with tax PPMDs but not in my local office (not looking to move). Would it make more sense for me to leave Deloitte for an associate level tax position or take my chances at an internal transfer to tax senior?

Interested in some data points on Big Law L&E senior associates moving to a non-equity shareholder position at Littler or Ogletree without a book of business. For those with knowledge, have you noticed any advantages to making the switch around Year 9 as opposed to waiting a few more years (Year 11/12)?
