I have a company where I applied to a Senior Accountant role (3-4 weeks ago). I didn't hear back at all. But they just dropped a staff accountant role. I like the company and what they are doing.

Would it be uncouth for me to apply for the staff position too? Or is that a no-no? I feel like the cover letter would write itself - I like you enough to take a title cut. It helps they included the salary, and the staff salary is lateral to my current role.

Which position will be more interesting? Cybersecurity Sr. Associate - Regulatory or Cyber Defense -Senior Associate Network Security? Currently have CISA and CISSP.

Did a round of brand side interviews with a senior level team and want to write a thank you note that doesn’t come across too thirsty. What would a senior person appreciate in a note if they got one?

They have all been there 10 plus years. Just thank for their times and reiterate what value I can bring to the role?

Agency side is so lax I haven’t had to write one my last few jobs 😓

3 years ago was recruited away from D to a PE portfolio company to run M&A and other strategy work. Things have gone well and company is prepping for exit. Thinking about going back to consulting after exit: what options are out there? I left D as an M and would only consider returning as “senior” SM or higher. Who else is hiring at higher levels in M&A? What does starting comp look like for SM (or equivalent) role?

If I started a new position (not Deloitte, Im in industry now) in July of this year, would a typical company give me a raise at year end? I took a step down from Senior to Staff when I accepted the role so a raise would be super nice!

Fortunate to be deciding btw 3 offers and trying to decide what offer to go with. I don’t want comp to be part of the discussion at all because I’ve made some pretty bad moves in the past purely based on going with highest comp offer.

How does the hiring process work? I interviewed with 4 people (manager, senior manager, partner, partner) who actually makes the decision of whether to hire me?

Analyst at Deloitte soon to be consultant and interviewing at Accenture. They have me interviewing for the Senior Analyst role. Is this typical at Accenture? I’m a little frustrated because it seems like I’d be taking a step back and am not sure why they chose that role for me to interview for instead of a consultant role.

I’m doing my final round interviews with Strategy& PEVC group for Senior Manager role. They mentioned it would be a case interview. Any idea what to expect? Is it like post MBA case interview where you are asked to build a framework, shown a ton of charts etc etc?

Interviewed for a senior strategist role and as we were griping about how clients can be, I said “oh yeah well the dream job is to never work with clients again right?!” And the recruiter just got back to me that “the role requires client interaction so that’s a dealbreaker”. I feel so dumb for getting comfortable during an interview to joke like that.

Senior Buyer whose specialty is electronic components with 27 years of experience. Recently ended up in the medical world and realizing I under sold myself. Management asked me to do an analysis and come up with a number. My current salary is 82k. In our industry with the same experience etc. jobs are posted for up to 108k. Management mentioned that they want to keep people and they pay their worth. I got this position through a recruiter. Any information good bad or indifferent is appreciated!
