The "employee" should be made a protected class. The trauma from head banging on office chair backs after exposure to hours of legalese in compliance training has to constitute some kind of institutionalized abuse.

Went into the office today. The choice to come in was mine as the office is open but there’s no mandate.

Gotta admit, it was nice to have fast wifi, a crap ton of LaCroix I can drink (and take home), and just get out of my home office for a change.

Will I do this often? Doubt it. Is it a nice option to have should my wifi go out again? Yes it is.

Weird question (please don’t judge). Do any of you “display” your watch boxes? I have two Rolex’s and currently, the green boxes live in my closet. I bought a brand new home office desk and was considering “displaying” the boxes on my desk. Is this pretentious? Does anybody else do this? Thanks in advance for answering a weird question lol

I’m 23 and constantly have back pain, my shoulder aches, etc. from sitting so long at my desk. I have a standing desk and use it for a few hours a day.
1) has anyone found a routine that has significantly helped? Am I just not exercising / stretching enough?
2) Is this worth it? (Realize that’s a deeper question) But has anyone been in consulting for a while and noticed significant health / physical problems and wish they left sooner?

How do digital nomads work from anywhere? After two years of this whole WFH thing, I realize that I need a proper routine, an actual WFH setup with a second monitor, a ring light, a suitable desk, an ergonomic chair, stationery, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love the flexibility of remote work, and I'm not sure I will ever go back to 5 days a week in an office (or even one day a week, for that matter.) But, how do digital nomads adapt by packing up and going so frequently between places?

How do you WFH-only people socialize outside of work? I'm starting a new WFH-only job and am realizing that the bulk of my week will be me alone in my home office. I'm introverted but still would want to socialize and meet people occasionally.

Do any of you use either a Uplift V2 or VARI standing desk? I need a new desk and was considering one of these. I’m thinking either the Whiteboard Desk from Uplift or the Reclaimed “Wood” from VARI. Anyone with experience w/ either company and their products?

Where can i find a standing desk that lowers to 24-26”? Seems like all of them lower to 28” but that’s a little too high for me to use when I’m sitting down and i end up shrugging

Is there a polite way to ask the SM if we can work out of our city office instead of the sad suburban office that’s closest to him and the partner? Majority of the team lives way closer to the city office. I chose my home office and did not expect to have to travel just to work with my team in the office. It’s one thing to travel to client site (obviously part of the job), but another to have to drive out just to work with my team. I wish that would’ve been communicated to me before I started.

Hi all, I’m in a mtg heavy culture and realized I wasn’t getting much movement btwn WFH and back-to-back calls. So I got a minimalist treadmill with a collapsible bar and wheels for easy portability. I don’t have the space for a fancy standing desk but found a compact, adjustable height one with lockable wheels. I do my most focused work on two monitors at my desk (ie dinner table) and hop on the treadmill for check-ins and some strategy calls. It’s made a huge difference in focus and mood! 🏃🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍💻

I am transitioning to fully remote and I am setting up a home office for the first time. My home office will be substantially smaller than my work office and I’m trying my best to stay organized. The pandemic has worn me down; most so due to the lack of natural light. With the Canadian lockdowns; inability to access the office due to the protests and home office being a window less den. (Share my condo with my partner so only space). I saw 10 hours of natural light in January and there has been months where I don’t see any due to weekend work and sleeping in on the weekend. Have dealt with depression for years but this is the worst part
