Looking to move with family ( 2 kids under 4) to a LCOL/MCOL with decent weather. Me and wife both have 100% remote job. Narrowed down to:

1. Las Vegas: proximity to Bay Area, LCOL, outdoor activities but concerned on schooling and negative influence of the strip

2. DFW: No outdoor activities but good job opportunities and schooling

3. Portland(OR): High MCOL, not diverse but decent schools, outdoor activities and close to Seattle for job opportunities

Recommendations? Anything I am missing?

I thought I was dead set on getting a remote job but discovering those are hard to come by. I found something I like but would have to be in office once a week and will be 3-4 days eventually. If the pay is a 15% bump plus 15% bonus, plus carry after a year (it’s a VC) would I be stupid to not take it just because of the in office requirement? I’ve really become accustomed to remote life and don’t want to go back in person, but the money is making me wonder if I’m being stupid with that thinking

I am planning to move to NYC soon. Just got a new (remote) job with really solid total comp and I’m young and single and think the lifestyle there will be great for me for a few years. However, I can’t help but consider that I will prob save an extra ~$35k a year if I live where my family is located where there’s no income tax and where I’ll have much lower expenses. Is saving an additional 35k worth missing out on having a great mid-20s experience in nyc?

Fresh grad here who is doing something slightly different than her degree! I’m a UI Designer and Graphic designer currently. Question: How realistic is it to do a 40 hour week summer internship (remote) for UX Design and a 30-35 hour E-commerce consulting ( remote ) job together?
Is it possible? Manageable? Any insight would be helpful.

I have been applying to jobs nonstop and honestly feel so disheartened. I have my MBA with a healthcare management concentration and I even had my resume professionally done. I have almost 4 years total healthcare experience with the last almost 2-2 1/2 years in management. I am ready for a change and looking for a remote job, preferably in healthcare/project/program management. I am even open to entry level healthcare IT. Would appreciate any help!

Hello fellow PM's! I'am currently applying for new remote jobs and a few of the hiring processes include an interview with CTOs. What should I expect from that?

For context, it's not a technical PM jobs and the job description states that they are ok with Business Grads. I can do some python and SQL but mostly for data Analytics (Pandas and Numpy libraries for instance). I can also deal with HTML and CSS for website development but I would say I am a noob at this point.

Hello, I have a Art History degree(2020 grad). The area I am in doesn't have any museums hiring! I just became a substitute teacher. Seeking a Masters/license in Special Education! I have my status of eligibility to teach Art K-12 but have not received any offers to be an Art teacher. Parents don't want me to get my license yet(since the car insurance went up etc). I'm finding it difficult to find remote jobs in either field(Art His). Can anyone refer me to a company/help me find a remote Job?

I’ve been in a 100% remote job for 5 months. I don’t feel connected to my coworkers beyond a superficial level and am not invested in the work I’m doing… is this good or bad? lol

Software Engineer, 3.5 Years of experience, remote job with a company that has a shared workspace office in Denver and a small team here but is mostly remote for tech jobs, company is headquartered in Oklahoma. Base pay 97,000, 10% profit share bonus, 6% 401k match after 1 year, other benefits at the low/mid range.

Not sure if this is a good compensation package, but based on housing costs and living costs here, it's on the low range.

When applying to remote jobs, do you ask for a salary higher than your the average in your own state? US labor stats say product designers make a mean of ~90k per year, but in my state it's ~70k.
I currently have 5 YOE and 65k TC, I'm looking to upgrade that to 85k TC

I work in an old school company that does not allow anyone to work remote except for management if necessary. Ever since the pandemic started, it’s been a regular day reporting to work and sitting in the office all day. Due to Covid, we decided it’s best to not meet in person but stay in our desk and talk via Teams/zoom. I am now struggling on finding a remote job because I don’t have any remote work experience. Any tips on how to get a remote job in HR?

How do you or would you put second remote job on resume? (Working two remote)

I feel guilty. I have permanent wfh job and my kids (under 2 years) don’t allow me to work. I basically attend 3 hours of meeting everyday and rest of the day just goes by.. no time for strategic thinking.

State income tax question.

I live in Texas and just started a remote job for a CA company. Got my first paycheck and I see they withheld CA state taxes.

Did I just screw myself by not researching CA laws? Does CA withhold state income taxes even if I am not a resident?

I have a permanent WFH job and my husband found out that his company will not be bringing them back into the office. I cannot deal with this 24/7 arrangement on a permanent basis. I’ve been pushing through and just dealing with it this far thinking and hoping there’d be an end in sight - him returning to the office. Of course, I love him but I can’t spend 24/7 with him or anyone else for that matter. I like a bit of space. Anyone else in a similar situation/feeling? How are you dealing? 😩

I’m currently living and working close to Boston but I’m considering moving back home for personal reasons. Unfortunately, “home” doesn’t offer much local options and it’s not close enough to travel into the city every day for work.
