Would you take a “Strategy & Ops” role at a strong tech company (i.e., Airbnb, Slack, Robinhood, LinkedIn) if it was skewed more towards the “Ops” side with some “Strategy”?

End goal is to work in product.

We have 36 minute zoom sessions per class, not much time. What do you think is the best way to use that time? Q&A session? Lecture? Other ideas?

I’m interviewing for a lateral position and have a few zoom interviews with associates. How should I prepare for this 2 hour set of interviews? What kind of questions should I ask or be prepared to answer? Any topics I should stay away from (besides the obvious ones like politics/religion)? I know associate interviews are supposed to be pretty relaxed, but I also want to prepare as much as possible. Any advice is welcome!!

This may not be true but feel a lot of people in the workforce are pretty lazy and slack off. If you are a hard worker and somewhat competent should you always be able to find a job?

Working on a just-for-fun side project right now that involves a remote shoot. Zoom seems to be the easiest solution. But, does anyone know the approach Progressive/Arnold took with their WFH commercials? It seems like they shot each character separately. Then stitched them together in the edit.

Bill Gates is wrong business travel will relatively get back to pre covid levels with some industry requiring more then others. The sales person who show up to the client site will have a competitive advantage developing relationship then those depending strictly on Zoom. 

Do you guys use your computer to take notes and do calcs during zoom case interviews?

So, I'm happy at my Amlaw100 firm but had a similarly-sized firm contact me about lateraling. I said I was open to the right offer, and they scheduled a zoom interview with the main partner in my practice group. He no-showed. I called and emailed his assistant, no response. A week later the firm's chief recruiter reached out and apologized and said he was "eccentric." Asked me to reschedule interview with other partners. Should I mess with it? Do I really want to work here, even for more money?

US Thanksgiving family zoom ideas? .. will be about 15 people in four locations for one hour call only during appetizer hour for all. . Older teens to grandparents. Thinking about conversation “ice breakers” just to get people talking in a more structured way and give everyone a chance to talk. Any ideas on conversational “games” or ways to make it more fun/structured less awkward. Anyone doing something similar, share ideas?

I miss being taken to lunch by outside counsel. None of y’all have even suggested doing a zoom lunch where y’all order a steak to my house and we stare into each other’s eyes (network) via Teams/Zoom.

How can you tell if zoom interview well?

Has anyone added “bookmarks” to recorded zoom videos? Trying to find how to do that and if separate software is needed but Google has been unfruitful.

How do I make sure to look interested and engaged in zoom calls? I just joined a new team that requires cameras on and my Manager said I seemed distracted. Because my eyes are moving, but I’m just taking notes on the side or organizing my thoughts. I’m super bored too but now I have to figure out how to look interested.

How do you pay attention and digest what’s being said, especially when you’re not presenting? Any chrome plugins to disable the browser when zoom is live 🤦🏻‍♂️

Is there a video conferencing platform that simulates virtual networking well? Not zoom breakout rooms. I’m thinking more like lots of dynamic rooms that people can always see who is in that room and then freely come and go. In-person equivalent would be like networking circles at a cocktail reception and you migrate from circle to circle based on interest or holiday parties based on wanting to catch up with those people.

Those who work for a social client. When you have an event, like a draft, what is your "war room" procedure. Who owns what? Are you on slack/zoom/phone calls? Is there someone who has the absolute authority on all things? I need something for my team to follow
