AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

I do a mix of corporate governance and securities law. Is it wrong to pass on tax questions? I truly don’t understand tax law and feel incompetent to answer tax questions with any accuracy.

Tips on giving notice over the phone? I’m required to be in the office 5 days a week but the two partners I work for never come on Fridays or Monday mornings

Opinions on career clerkships? Especially with a two year old and wanting another child eventually.

Is anyone else exhausted with their consulting staff thinking they’re gods? Being treated with disrespect constantly by them is so draining. How do you manage your responses to them that’s not a 30 second turnaround?

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

I’m at a mid size transactional firm. I’m a total night owl and my partners have OK’d me starting the workday at around 11am because I regularly work until midnight or later. I get so much more done after dark! I still get some side eye from other associates, but 🤷🏽‍♀️

Recommendations on an exceptional career coach who can help my husband? He works with his brother at a startup his brother founded (my husband is in-house counsel) but often finds himself belittled by his brother, cut out of conference calls and emails and generally feeling like he has no skills. He's an ivy league graduate and went to a great law school but for many reasons cannot leave this job right now. Looking for someone to help w/his confidence level and ways to approach his brother. I’ve been running into weird happenings at my new firm learn of everything “I misunderstood” about my package. I don’t actually qualify for quarterly bonuses at a pro-rated billing rate; no 401ks till year 2; and the biggest—we don’t qualify for a raise unless we are here during the entire fiscal year. We have a 2100 billable req which I’m barely hitting. We also get paid below 6 figures. I learned that the new associates came is at least $10k over us. I graduated 2020–but 1st firm job. Advice?

Does anyone know what McKinsey offers in terms of tuition reimbursement to non consulting staff?

Fifth year labor and employment associate at Big4 L&E firm (think Littler) and am considering making a move into big law (think Jones Day, Goodwin, etc.) Any thoughts on if it’s worth it this late in my associate career? Also, do those big firms take 6-8 year L&E laterals?

I got offer Letter from infosys 2.5 months back, now when I am trying to decline the offer by sending a mail to HR, it was not getting delivered as HR left the organisation 1 month back, I forwarded mail to feedback team of infosys but still got the mail from onboarding team with joining details and WebEx link, kindly suggest how to proceed in this case.

So, some of my co-workers simply said that they want to go ahead and start something or start looking elsewhere (career change) because they don't know how much it will last at the pace we are going in regards to case intake and pay out. Should I start panicking or simply start looking elsewhere? They even they even told me if I was looking elsewhere or planned on doing so also. I found it weird in a way.

The older I get and the more I think about raising my own children, I keep thinking how can parents frame religious duties like fasting as something to look forward to. I think volunteering as a family can help install the value of giving back and zakaat. How can one make Ramadan and Eid something to look forward to when holidays like Christmas seem to be purely joyous occasion that one doesn’t have to put in work for like fasting for Ramadan?
