After 30 at state, a new micromanager who know Nothing about my unit's work. Absolutely everything is under scruitiny. We can't do anything without permission. When I was trying to explain my experience they snapped, "I don't care." I am highly competent, but nothing is right under the new world order. I've started job hunting, but my age is a major barrier. Young folks assume I'm near retirement, but I can't retire for 10-14 years. Any tips for surviving?

I've heard a couple of things about how the partner pension amount @ PwC is determined, both similar in approach.

Both calculations I have heard of result in an annuity paid until death, at which point a surviving spouse (if any) receives the annuity.

The first calculation I have heard is that you get 80% of your highest earning year as a partner (e.g. If your best year was $1M, you'd get $800k as an annuity).

The second calculation I have heard is that they look at your three highest earning years as a partner, and take the second highest and you get 100% of that. (e.g if your three highest earning years were $1M, $800k, and $1.2M, you'd receive $1M as an annuity).

Is ANY of this true, or just all rumor? Any PwC partners that can chime in and explain the pension plan fact for fact? Perhaps with sample numbers?

Does anyone have any insight into partners retiring early? I am at a point where I need to consider leaving if I am not aiming for partner. I don’t see myself working past my 40s. My partner and I are not big spenders and anticipate have enough to retire comfortably in 40s (obviously a lot can change). My supervisor gave me 8hours of AWOL because I couldn't show up one day because I was under anxiety. I have gave him letters from psychiatrist,psychologist that I'm passing through this. Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II.
