Does ey gds lay off?
Any layoff expected in bny ?
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
Layoff going on in Synechron ?

Why do modern people still use the phrase “laid off”. This is a labor / manufacturing term for standing people down when things don’t need to be manufactured but will be in the future. Not for “firing” consultants.
Don't know. I suspect that it suits the employers rather than the employees though.
I work in the UK and my notice period is 6 months.
Former ACN Consultant here that boomeranged back to PwC. If you were recently laid off from ACN and in the US, then I’m happy to refer you to any relevant roles that you might be interested in over here.
Yeh Accenture 2 has to stop drinking the cool aid in the office
PSA: Stop telling people who got laid off that they were fired. At consulting firms, you should be put on a pip before getting fired. If you have no warning, it’s a lay off.
Surprised I got to the end of this thread & no one mentioned the term "exited"
Rising Star
So glad i got out while the getting was good a year ago. At least from my experience and that of my colleagues, ACN folks have much better exit opps open to them then this app sometimes gives credit for. Happy to DM with anyone who got laid off (except A2 if they get terminated).

Mind sharing the name of your new employer?
Always remember:
Layoff is a structural change to the number of employees driven by current or future loss of revenue.
Managed attrition is eliminating workers for reasons like poor performance, diminishing skills, poor utilization, etc
Is this news true? Accenture is laying of people
F. Laid off for performance or layoffs?
I was separated because of one non-exemplary performance review that was full of lies and ws post mortem. I was told at the time, nothing could be done about the lies and that I could not respond to the person that gave me the review. After that I received stellar performance reviews. MY PL held me for a project she was working on for 2 months and even though I was getting tons of reach out for roles she told me I was being held for this project. Then the project never materialized and she released me to explore other opportunities and the pipeline had dried up. When I got told about my separation the idiot in HR told me an ethics investigation was opened against the f'er who gave me the non-stellar review. What a f'ing joke. I also have a self-declared ADA recognized mental disability and am older than 50. My attorney is having a field day with this.
You got laid off?
The term is “willful misconduct” - which puts unemployment compensation at risk…

F indeed

Not yet. F.
You guys this is out of context : we are at year end and yes there is a normal cycle where people are being asked to leave (eg bottom
Performers, on the bench for too long, behavior,…) as do every single other consultancies.
If you were around long enough you would know that this was a common practice that stopped a few years ago, the ladder reappeared this year. Sometimes it is fair sometimes it stinks.
Is this happening again?
I hear a bunch of people say freeze and slow down. Is that connotatively different than lay offs?
Don’t know why everyone is arguing about semantics here, termination of employment just what it is, regardless of what name you decide to call it.
It really doesn’t matter- except you were terminated “for cause”, it really all is semantics and nothing more
Yes I was recently separated from Accenture. I received 1 non-stellar performance review on a project that was post mortem and full of lies - never talked to about performance issues during project. Was told I could not respond to the liar and nothing could be done about it. Received stellar feedback on all other projects during the year. My People Lead had me doing some BD work for a project she was certain would get signed. For two months she told me I could not pursue other opportunities - was being held for this project. Was getting tons of reach outs for other opportunities during this two month period but PL kept telling me could not pursue. The project never materialized. I finally got a project with Accenture Ops, great project leader, great collaborative team in flow state and established trusted advisor relationships with all client leads. Got great feedback once again. The got a call from practice lead telling me was being separated. I have an ADA recognized and self declared mental disability and am over 50. My attorney is having a field day with this one
Did the liar lose their job too?
