Anyone else have a combo of ADHD and OCD?

It’s bad. I check things sometimes 2-3 times.

If not more.

I do. Have for decades. OCD can come in handy. ADHD can lead me to forget something I already did (e.g., wash my left arm. So the arm is washed twice. However, if I forgot to wash my left arm, OCD leads me to wash it, maybe twice, but it gets done. Granted, OCD wastes almost as much time as ADHD, but I don't knock myself. I go with it. If I fought it all the time, I'd be miserable.

Go ahead, struggle with the OCD. It is what it is. Do your best to develop a successful self-accommodation, and let it go.

Yep yep

Comes in handy in accounting, of course. But still - a pain.

And it bleeds into other areas of my life.

That’s me. I sometimes want to do everything myself. I want it to be perfect. I can’t do it all myself. My job is to train and develop my Associates. Some days it will take me all day to do a planogram because I look at every little detail. If it doesn’t line up right I will take the whole thing apart and redo it again. Its exhausting.

No I just have ADHD- Short loss memory and other health impairement- I have now been diagnosed with mutliple disabilities when I took my last neurophycology evaluation in October 2021

Here is my dilemma: I was passed up for manager promo last year and rightfully so a lot of my feedback was definitely correlated to me not properly handing my symptoms causing a good bit of inconsistencies in my performance especially if I lacked interest. I’ve been working at a rather prestigious midsized firm in a big city for almost a year and a half now. I have been having a lot of trouble picking up work from senior partners. We are required to bill at least 150 hours per month to meet our requirement. My months are typically only 110-130 hours. It seems like the senior partners already have their “go to” associate for things. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can increase my workload? I reach out for work pretty much weekly.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible. Got diagnosed after college & after having been fired from my first job. Passed the CPA exams on Adderall. Went off of it again. I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

How do you approach projects when your boss plays the "guess what's in my head" game?
