I think OP is talking about a personal rental, not for work?
I’m pretty sure the firm wants us to NEVER buy the renter’s insurance. Seems like a bad deal for the firm. Also, if you both book a firm rate, you already have appropriate coverage
DD1, just theft and collison damage insurance.
OP's question makes no sense if he is talking about renting for work is why I assumed that, tho I will defer to the OP on what she/he meant 😁
This is 3rd post this week. Back on the soapbox I go. CC insurance does NOT cover liability. If you crash into someone’s car, home, or person, you’re on the hook. You either need 1) your own auto insurance or 2) to buy liability from the rental co. It’s that simple
Hahaha I was wondering if you'd show up here BCG1. Man (or woman) makes a good point...
And if I do purchase liability, would it void CSR covering my CDW?
Not what I read, A1. Any thoughts, OP?
Doesn't CSR provide primary liability coverage, not just CDW?
It’s for personal, and BCG1, if I get my own liability from the rental company, would it void my credit cards coverage? Since they say not to get the rental insurance?
They say it only for “loss damage waiver”. Also, no credit card that I have seen covers Liability. So, you are fine taking that. But using credit card insurance exposes you to a bit of a risk. If you get into a crash (hopefully, you never will), the car rental agency has to pull the vehicle off the shelf for repairs. They sometimes charge you "loss of use" - basically, this is average daily rate * number of end to end days for repair. If they charge "loss of use", its a headache because though usually the credit cards cover it, they ask for the breakdown. The car companies are notorious for not giving a breakdown. You can research it further online.
