Creatives, if I send you resources you asked for in an email or Slack and your response is to ask me send it to the PM instead, I immediately view you as a precious child. Don’t be a child.

Wow, that is definitely bratty. I once managed a junior who said to me “I’m kinda busy right now, can you do it?”

likefunny

I was in awe, stood there for a second, bit my tongue and said, “I’ll be right back.” I cooled off at my desk, then returned, and said, “[Junior’s name], come with me, let’s have a talk,” and we found a small conference room. I closed the door. I then said, “I understand you are busy. The thing is, we are all busy here. See, if I do your task, then I won’t be able to finish [SUPER-important task]. Which affects us all. Then I’ll have to explain to [Creative Director] how I had to stop what I was doing to do *your* work. If you’d like, [Creative Director] is wrapping up a meeting now, would you like to come with me and explain to him why you want me to do your work? I’m ready right now.” This worked like a charm.

Wait. What?

Also, couldn’t they sent it after receiving it?

Did anyone's brains just stop working while pregnant? I'm 13 weeks and can only manage to work half days. I'll sit at my computer for 12 hours and bill only 3-4 hours instead of my standard 8-10. Any women in IBD who have gotten pregnant as a senior associate/early VP? Tips on who and when to share with different folks (HR, deal teams, ppl in group in general)?

As someone who never plans/wants to get married or have kids, I know I’ll never get back the money I spent on my friends’ weddings, bachelor parties, kids birthdays etc. I know that and I was fine with it because they’re my friends. But last weekend, I didn’t bring a gift to my friend’s kid’s 8th birthday party. Not cause I didn’t want to, but just ran out of time and honestly I don’t know what 8year olds are in to and I’ll just give the parents a gift cards later (cont)
