So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Sometime it is a blessing. Depends on the situation. In my case, it opened a new career path that I may not have taken if I was not laid off.
Just depends on what approach they're taking to the layoffs. Sometimes the first people to get cut are the underperformers. Sometimes no one is safe from the axe.
I think a combination of different circumstances frequently contribute to being laid off, even if luck can also play a part. Occasionally, the firm may face financial difficulties or changes in direction, which, regrettably, might have an impact on employees. But it's important to concentrate on the things we can manage, like continuing to learn and grow as individuals.
For me it was a blessing. I have to believe it!
I was so stressed out in my last gig. Also, it's giving me a chance to study for my PHR. Couldn't do it sense everything at work was on fire.
It’s a good luck ! Go and get that 30% raise and inflate ur title if possible ! We usually do not take tough paths but once lay off happen - we ought to take that:)
No, do not blame yourself in any way or feel like it is a reflection of your destiny. I know that at the moment saying "Look at the bright side" can sound like toxic positivity, but you will find something better soon.
Not entirely. Sometimes even the most talented individuals get caught in the crossfire. Skills that were once vital might become less relevant with technological advancements or changing company priorities. Sometimes it's a confluence of economic pressures, strategic shifts and unfortunate timing.
