Everyday I can’t seem to hit the required billable hours. I’m overwhelmed by emails and people asking me where an item is. I feel like I’m not good enough. I keep making mistakes I shouldn’t make at my level. I wish I could just quit so I wouldn’t have to be miserable everyday.

OP… do not let anyone play with your mind. We as D are really good at beating peoples self esteem and self worth. If you feel the way you wrote and have zero senior level support, implies it’s time for you to move on.

I have been in the exact same boat for the last 2ish years or so. Have applied to 1000+ jobs on LinkedIn and finally this month landed a decent sales role that I’m excited for. Find your passion and what makes you tick and the rest will be history.

There’s definitely life outside work, you just need to extend your hand. All the best to you.

Looking for a comparison to what other firms are offering and how this one stacks up. Ours is working out a brand new bonus structure:

Our general targets are 75% util. Billable or qualified non-billable time. Bonuses will be $1000 per quarter just meeting that. $25/ hr for every billable hour beyond that on top.

Have any of you taken "low bono" clients while working at a firm? I want to take on a low bono client or two but not sure who would get the money. This is a contract opportunity through a non profit so I'm assuming a 1099 will be issued. The per hour rate is significantly less than my billable rate. What happens if you don't enter it in the system but take only the available hours across the year? Does it impact HR in any way?

How low is too low for a second chance the following year? This is assuming quality of work is historically good and not their fault they have little work.

It’s been one of those days. Crying nonstop and feeling just AWFUL. The thing is, can’t even pinpoint what is giving me so much agony. Probably the current state of the world and my life but that’s largely unchanged since a month or so ago. So why does a day like today happen out of nowhere? Does this happen to anyone else? I’m so incredibly burnt out—I’ve been going to sleep at 3 am and waking up at 7. I’m working 16 hour days consistently, and on Friday through Saturday I literally pulled an all nighter (until 11 am) to work. I don’t have time to make friends, let alone hang out with them, and all of my partner’s free time lately has been helping me stay afloat.
