Hello! I transitioned from law to healthcare and I'm not quite sure yet? It seems to have more jobs in general and the entry level jobs are genuienly entry level and working at a big company means I can potentially move to other positions easily. As opposed to law which you need usually need specific education/experience to even get entry level, and with a few exceptions there is very little promotions.
Also raises at hospitals are usually across the board not your performance unless you work for a private practice. A lot of who u know as well.
I am currently attempting to transition into mental health care from teaching. It is a struggle.
Stay positive, clinical therapist are in high demand mental health and substance abuse. I live an hour outside of Louisville, there are five inpatient treatment facilities, and over 150 outpatient, intensive healthcare, partial hospitalization, and sober living homes. There is a shortage of therapists.
I transition from the food industry to health care and it was the best thing that I could have done with my career.
Yes after 25 years in nyc publishing now am at Henry Schein. I do not regret the move. Publishing was much tougher-competitive, nasty people who would do pretty much anything for money. Don’t get me wrong-I made some good friends and made great money, but corporate health care is much better. Some days I miss the money/perks etc
I was an accounts payable perfor almost 20+ years.
I lost my job and then my dad and withe the money I was able to go back to school full-time. It's been 4 years, I do like my job love most od mt patients, hat the corporation and the lack of money.
Yup. I did over 20+ yrs ago, as an "independent" consultant, mostly worked for financial institutions, insurance companies. Healthcare consulting gig became available, which eventually became a FTE position,
I accepted, the "gig". I've been quite pleased I did. Worked for several healthcare orgs, (mostly) very positive experiences.
Now, I plan to remain at my current employer until retirement. Best of luck to you!
