Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

Is he an iranian citizen? I heard booking.com doing something similar…
What is the nationality and did they specifically say it was for that reason?
Hey everyone, thanks for your answers. He’s Syrian but with European visa. The company specifically said that was the reason over the phone. It could be hiring freeze but in that case I’m assuming they would use that justification rather than nationality…
I believe certain American companies are not allowed to hire people from specific countries (Iran, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, and regions of Ukraine) based on sanctions imposed on these places. I saw a post on LinkedIn about someone from Iran going through something similar at another large tech company. I believe it is a federal law, but can't point to the exact one. I would recommend your friend contact an employment attorney to go over this law or to reach out on LinkedIn to other tech professionals from these countries for support
He will talk to a lawyer tomorrow and will see if that is the case. Thanks for the reply!
