Hi Techies,
I want to know that where should move/upskill from networking routing switching to other domains to get more salary.
I feels that networking industry doesn't have deep pocket like others.
Any suggestions of technology/domain?

Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. I did. Did the Georgetown Distance LLM. Did it during Covid so everyone was remote- a weird time for sure. Worked full time and took 2 classes a semester. 3 years. 6 more Finals period was rough especially right after law school. I had mixed support from my firm- our bonus structure was monthly and quarterly- so often I got screwed due to needing to take time off for finals. And the support they promised (as they really wanted me to get the LLM) was underwhelming. After I expected to receive a salary raise to market upon graduating- they lowballed me and I left to make a lot more money at another firm. In the end, I don’t regret doing it, and it has brought a lot of benefit to my life- the new firm wanted me bad partially because I had the degree but in the moment, it was hell. Especially with a young infant. Make sure you really want to do it and that you have some support from work. Good luck!
Similar experience to A1, I also did Georgetown distance. It helped me land my job that I’m starting 4/22 and very excited about. I was full time at a position while doing it and same as A1 they “wanted” me to do it but then didn’t provide any real support. Finals time was hell most semesters (so far). I’m still in it now. I do think it helps career wise, and very beneficial for making connections.
I did the NYU executive LLM and graduated a few years before COVID (so, before online curriculum was more widespread). I did one class a semester because it allowed me to maximize my employer reimbursement and it took 5 years to complete. Very doable while working but I spent over half my annual PTO studying for and taking exams.
I am glad I did it but only because employers seem to want to see it. It can be a credential that sets you apart from other candidates. But It is only a career advancement tool if you were under utilized in tax before or want to signal competency in the area that you can’t get elsewhere. Kind of an expensive way to do that.
