Hi everyone. I'm currently a college freshman in east Tennessee. I am studying at a community college right now where I'll earn my AS in Business Administration. I will then transfer to Tennessee Tech University to earn my BSBA in Accounting and Finance. I want to ultimately get my CPA. I have aspirations of being an executive in some form either as a CFO or even CEO. Do you believe I have chosen the right majors for my career aspirations while also maintaining flexibility in terms of options?

I have seen multiple CEOs at the financial institutions I have worked at have their CPA. I think that is a very helpful and valuable credential to have. Same with the BSBA in Accounting and Finance. You could also one day consider an MBA which would only help. That said, as you begin/continue your career journey it's all about how leadership sees the value you add to the org you are a part of, and also "who you know" is huge. Focus on building strong relationships throughout your career and do not let the small things get to you. You got this!
