Hi Tax Bowlers,
I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?

FWIW, all the Transfer Pricing folks in my office (EY) seem to do the CFA. It opens doors to a lot of quantitative finance jobs.

What about an MBA? PwC pays some

If you’re set on doing TP for life, seems like not having certifications will probably only prolong your track to partnership, and some industry job sometimes prefer certifications. Never hurts to try though esp if firm pays for it.

We hit quote every month/q/year by a lot. I have several offers at double my OTE. Already asked what the timeline is for a new manager and I was told soon and I'm "up for consideration."
