Regular chiropractic work. Stretching during calls (door stretch, lying on floor with foam roller parallel to back just under shoulder blades). Valerian root/other muscle relaxants. Lacrosse ball rolling neck/shoulder against a wall.
Biiiiiiig variability in chiropractors. Took me a few tries to find a good one. But he is a miracle worker — I have zero back pain from an old sports injury now, and with WFH has also been instrumental in keeping my neck tightness from turning into headaches.

1. Invest in a good monitor so you’re not looking down at your laptop screen.
2. Buy a top of the line Herman Miller type ergo chair. It will set you back by $1200 or so but it is totally worth it. You are spending 14 hours a day on it.
3. Stand up every 45 mins and stretch like a cat for 2-3 mins.
M7 can you name a few please? TIA!
PTO
I agree! I need this breakkkkkk
Stop taking adderall
Honestly sometimes I wish I had some
Same. Just trying to get to Friday
36 more hours! We’re so close
Move away from the desk. It only gets worse.
Chiro helps provide quick relief but isn’t a sustainable solution. Would recommend physical therapy - many are used to treating the classic symptoms of workaholic desk job types and they give you exercises to do that actually fix the root of the problem. I occasionally do chiro if I’m feeling stiff and did regular PT visits until my back was under control. All of this should be covered by Firm’s insurance.
a) sit on a floor and work not in a chair (b) try and take some calls standing up / lying down in bed (c) take breaks , work out - the world will not collapse
I work from my bed couch everywhere. Is it just me
And yes I also work from couch / bed. I caved and got a desk / chair and it’s so hardddd
Pro
Better chair and a standing desk so you can change how your body is bearing weight occasionally.
And if your monitors aren't at the right height, fix that first.
Highly recommend Theragun. I was in a similar situation and borrowed my roommate’s. It changed my life.
I’d recommend getting a ergonomic assessment of your set up (Google them). Assessments can be executed over zoom and then buy the equipment the specialists recommend.
That’s a great idea
Thanks for the recommendations! I started stretching out and ordered a few items recommended here. Really appreciate y’all!
Try some stretching/yoga, it really helps. You find plenty of nice stuff on Youtube
Take an epsom salt bath- I pulled the same schedule recently and my body was just a ball of ache after few days of treating it like hell. You will feel like a puffy cloud and have the best sleep afterwords.
Standing desk
Look up nekteck (sp?) neck massager on amazon. Best $50 I’ve ever spent.
Get yourself a laptop stand/monitor and a standing desk. Really helps with posture and good to switch up sitting/standing. Stretch in the AM and PM
Yeah why is the question not how to fix the root of the issue? Fix your desk setup! If you have a monitor, the height needs to be adjusted. Get a $100 one from Craigslist and all the fancy gadgets you want after that.
Back also hurts an insane amount. Shoulders constantly annoy me. You're not alone. Also a BA.
Acupressure mat. Cheap and effective buy on Amazon
20 minutes before bed every night but started with just a few minutes. Doesn’t hurt once you get used to it. Sometimes I even fall asleep on it!
