I landed my dream job and had about a month in the office before Corona sent us home. It's been great considering pandemic etc etc. BUT...I'm not connecting with my team the way you do when you're new. I see lots of virtual HHs and I'm not getting invited. I don't think it's me...I think I'm siloed because I'm newish and WFH and these people got to bond in the office. Anyone have tips for the new kid trying to make office friends while stuck at home? 😔

Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. I know that some other associates at my level are approximately 30% behind other associates in hours on a month to month basis. Yet all of these associates say they are “at capacity”, and myself and another associate still end up being assigned work instead of them. How do we handle this? For reference, all associates are around the firms minimum requirement, it’s just that a few of us are 30+% over and it is leading to burnout.

Really struggling with a few students in my kindergarten class this year and looking for suggestions.
